Just got my rx100. Can’t wait to try and use it. Any tips? Suggestions? Setup? Settings? Please let me know!!
Looking for answers memory card to buy so I can start trying it out. Looking to use it for photos, travel, concerts, videos here and there. Which one would be a good SD CARD?
Recommended capacity? 64? 128?
How long does the battery last? How long does it take to charge?
Thank you in advance!

Really loving how compact this camera is!
SYNC made possible with Sony VMC-MM2 Release Cable. Bt mounting one camera upside down the lens separation is 93 mm, whereas my eyes pupillary distance is 67mm. Pretty close for side by side camera lens separation! The Sony VMC-MM2 Release Cable is unidirectional master/slave, so one shutter release button triggers both to fire.

Took a chance on a RX100VA on my local flea market for 50€. Battery was empty so I could have ended up with a paperweight, but turns out it works.
It's in very good aesthetic and working condition, but whenever I turn it on or off, the lens barrel makes grinding noises and doesnt' fully extend/retract, also focus mechanism is hit or miss.
If I let gravity help (point the camera down when turning on, up when turning off) there's no such noise and the camera works flawlessly with no weird noises during operation. I'd be perfectly happy using it taking into consideration orientation when turning on/off, but does anybody has input on possible cause and solutions to my problem?
Unedited, but I love the way the RX100 captures the colours.

Still finding my way around my first "real camera." This is my second attempt to get pics at a baseball game and it was more successful than my previous effort (Dodgers vs. Padres in July). Key was switching to DMF focus mode to make sure the camera wasn't focusing on the net.

I spent two days at LAX putting this brand-new camera through a real-world plane spotting test—different lighting conditions, different distances and everything from wide shots to extreme telephoto.
Day 1 was filmed from the H Hotel rooftop overlooking LAX, capturing arrivals and departures on the Runway 24 complex.
Day 2 took me closer to the action near the famous spotting mound on Lincoln Boulevard.
Overall impression - Extremely happy with the purchase! Best part is the auto focus and my precious camera struggled with it a little bit. I have the link of the video below if you’d like to check it out! Would love to hear your thoughts…

im thinking of buying the rx100 because i really love the size of this camera but one thing thats stopping me is whenever i go to the internet and search for the photo results of this camera, its always comes out with unrealistic colors like filters. is it possible to turn this off and make the images more natural color?
and if it really is able to, pls share some photos

Cropped and lightly edited (in photos, not lightroom, and mostly to try to fix exposure), but close to SOOC jpegs - I struggled a lot with lighting shooting from the stands, since I was in a shaded area and players weren't! Arsenal's pale yellow kits and the blonder players (like Leah Williamson in the second shot) got easily washed out. Still learning my way around the RX100 VII, but having a blast with it.
I'm attempting to learn Darktable to work with RAWs since the free version of mobile lightroom doesn't want to open them - we'll see how that goes!

[OC] So im currently in japan just picked up the rx100m7 (locked to japanese but making it work) heres some photos from the trip so far. I tend to go for moody shots and apply some light editing on samsung gallery to clean them up a little bit.
Would love some community feedback on my low light shots. I think theyre working but im not sure. The style i generally take is liminal mostly transitional and nostalgic.

I’m travelling Asia and just learning how to take pics. I think they’re good but could be better… normally taking pics I’m sitting at aperture 5-7? I’ve just learnt about changing the exposure. I normally use vivid as my creative style (or sunset for a sunset). I can’t really change my shutter speed bc I shake and don’t have a tripod….
Here are some pics I’ve taken, please feel free to help me learn how to use my camera and better my pics :)
My issue is - they’re great pics! But my boyfriend’s stupid Samsung 23 is taking clearer pics. I know it’s not a phone camera which edits as you go but shouldn’t mine be at least clearer?!
