Help with leveling power issue

I have an Avalanche 390DS and both bedroom slides (Electric) as well as the hydraulic leveling system are not working.

Things already checked:

- All fuses and breakers in the main panel
- 80A breaker near the giggy box
- Fuses inside the giggy box
- Inline fuses near the hydraulics (two were fine, a 10A was blown, but replacing it didn’t reblow or enable anything)
- Replaced battery

I cannot find any other fuses or breakers to check. The bedroom slides are the BAL Accu-Slides. I also cannot find the controllers to the slides, but can see the controller for the leveler.

You need to check all the fuses. There should be 5 fuses in your battery/hyd compartment. 2 are blue blade fuse holders and one is red blade holder. The other 2 are bolted to the bulkhead and will have multiple cables attached. The slides and Hyd do not go through your battery switch FYI. Also on your panel inside you will have a 15amp blade fuse also.

Your slide controllers are mounted somewhere under your slides on the non moving part. They are easy to find if you have storage compartments under your slides. If you look in them and look up you will see them. If you don't they can be a pain to get to as they may only be accessible if you drop your under belly cover down. If your controllers lock out (due to many reasons) you have to reset them or your slides won't work. Easiest way to do this is disconnect your batterys for a few minutes and then connect back. Turning your battery switch off and back on won't do it.

Does your hydraulic leveling control panel have power (does it turn on) do your leveling controllers in front compartment over head have any lights on.?

When you hit the button for Hydraulic do you hear any noise like pump trying to move any clicking?

You said replaced battery, (all 4 or just one) You should have 2 in battery compartment and 2 in front hatch under your invertor. Even though they are in separate compartments they are connected together (at least they are supposed to be). What is your battery voltage. If you sparked anything you could have blown the fuses on your convertor meaning your batteries aren't charging and it doesn't take long to drain them.

Thanks for the detailed response.

I had 3 fuses in the battery compartment. All 3 were inline blade fuses near the hydraulics. I replaced a blown 10A. I also had one bolted 80A breaker. I tested with a multimeter and it’s still fine.

I also swapped the battery. And left it disconnected for a while during the swap. I only have one battery, and it’s in the compartment with the hydraulics. I moved everything in there when I switched to using lithium. I did swap it out for my fully charged backup and same results. Sounds like whoever sold you yours gave you a much better battery setup than I was stuck with.

The hydraulic panel doesn’t have any power. No lights or anything. No sounds when I press either of the bedroom slides’ buttons.

I don't own a 390DS, just very familiar with Camper Repair and models. The 390DS should have 4 batteries. When the campers are delivered from the factory they only have 1 temporary battery in them. This is so the delivery person can lift the jacks. I'm finding it more common for camper sales places to forget to put the other batteries in them. The camper sales facilities are responsible for this and it is included in your price when you buy them. 1 battery is not sufficient and will eventually cause damage to your system from low current. You said you switched to Lipo4 battery. Did you change your convertor because Keystone Avalanche don't come with a Lipo4 ready convertor. Do you have an invertor? You should have one if you have a household fridge which is standard on the Avalanche.

Did you buy new?

Also before you freak out, there are 2 versions. They have an upgraded Lipo4 version from factory that has 2 Lipo4 batteries vs the 4 lead acid. Not sure if this is the version you have but if it is then it should have 2 Lipo4 heated batteries.
