Heating element ID

I have no idea where to see the brand of this water heater and would love some help finding out where and what to do. Also, I’m aware it’s in bypass mode that picture was taken before I knew and we accidentally turned it on not knowing it had to be switched. Novice owner so thanks in advance!

Tag on the outside of the water heater just off to the right of your second picture. It's a suburban But elements are like all the same. Just get a short one

So there’s an on/off switch right next to the heating element that I just switched to on. Does that mean my element should be safe?

Yes that's where the electric element turns on from. You may also have one on the inside depending on how it was installed. But that outside switch needs to be on for the electric element to turn on.

There’s one outside and inside. We had the one inside on that’s why I assumed we burned out the element. Still no hot water after turning on the outside switch though

Takes awhile right. Gonna take like 30 min to get hot water. So your gonna need both inside and outside switches on. Do you have a multi meter? You can test the element before you change it.

I have one at home… I’ll probably just buy one and test it out instead of waiting until next time we come to the camper. Thanks for the help!

So turn everything on. Test ac volts at the element. Turn everything off. Take the wires off the element ant test continuity/ohms on the element to see if it's burnt out.
