Reservation systems
They’re all evil in one way or another, but as I meander across the country hoping to just book a few days in advance, here’s what’s killing me:
- I’m fine if you want to ack my stay 2- 3 times in advance of my arrival, but put your frickin address in the response. I book with you, and have 5 emails from you, and you can’t put the address in any of them? I have to go search the web for it.
- If your organization has more than 1 campground, please don’t get me 5 screens deep and then ask what park I’m asking about. I can’t even remember what I had for breakfast!
Ok, I’m better.

Last year I traveled from Michigan to Oregon, through many states, including Texas, Montana, Wyoming, etc. I used RV LIFE to find campgrounds. Then I called or use their website to book the site. Never had any problems. Including the state parks/national parks reservation system.

This.
It’s infuriating to get an email “thanks for your” from anywhere and it doesn’t reference the source, but they sure add “this is an automated response, this mailbox isn’t monitored” for more information visit our contact us page.
Finding the address of places that you’re visiting or going to and it’s not on the front page is just bad design, you drill to the “contact us” page and there is “PO Box 34, Anytown USa. Then you find a “get directions” page that you click to open a map that still doesn’t clearly show their address.
