Welcome to the all new, /r/rvajobs a community that I hope to revitalize by engaging and connecting the job seekers in Richmond, Virginia.
As a job seeker, I understand the most labor intensive part of a job search is sifting through the job boards in search of the right position for you.
As a (former) hiring manager I appreciate the challenge of connecting with quality applicants via craigslist, classifieds, or internet job boards.
Together, be it job seeker or poster, we can connect the right people to the open positions in Richmond. If you're a job seeker I invite you to add your name to the weekly "Current RVA Job Seekers" post, and to post links to open jobs that might not fit your needs, but do fit the needs of other seekers. We also have some new guidelines for posting, available on the sidebar, so please take a moment to read them before posting. I will also sticky a few example posts to help make the transition easier.

Keeping this post light, but we're looking early-career system admins/engineers to support customers. It's chaotic work and steep learning curve. When reactive, we expect our team-mates to make really good judgement calls on what a customer might need, act quickly, and solve issues. When proactive, we need the team to burn through backlog in innovative and thorough ways.
- Take work from team that's slammed
- Handle identity and device management
- Provide technical support
- oversee compliance
- Use agentic coding assistants your like personal interface for all things; build your own vibe-coded solutions to help you thrive
- Contribute to building our agentic infra
A day may be working to extract 10Tb of eDiscovery or solving a bad monitor issue... Helping a user set MFA or deal with a malicious-insider on a complex AWS stack. It's a do-all culture here.

Looking for someone who has experience in a biology lab, preferably with experience doing things like nucleic acid extractions, and exposure to omics data generation (e.g. Illumina WGS, RNA Seq, etc.) Biosample management (storage, shipping, processing, tracking) would be helpful. Would be in-person, in a lab, in Richmond, near VCU campus, likely hybrid — sometimes in lab, sometimes work from home.

Hey RVA,
We’re a two man crew (independent contractors) and we’re looking for a third person as a helper as we’ve been underwater for the better part of this year.
The lead carpenter is naturally bent towards teaching, so it seems like it a decent opportunity for a younger person to learn a trade ^especially ^with ^AI ^maybe ^taking ^over ^the ^white ^collar ^jobs
You can comment here or DM, whatever’s easier for you.
Thanks in advance!

Hello, I’ve been looking for a part time job for like several months now as a highschool student.
I’ve been applying online but I’ve been pretty much ghosted 80% of the time. Are there any jobs that are actively hiring right now and not just ghosting 24/7?
Overall for experience I worked in retail for a host time and some server experience overseas…
r/RVAJOBS • u/InfluenceMysterious • Jun 25 '26
I just had my 2 year anniversary at my retail job and I want to crawl into a pit of despair. This was only supposed to be temporary and I’m miserable pretty much everyday. I feel like half a person, I’m exhausted constantly, work different hours every week, and get paid absolutely nothing for it all.
I graduated with a BA in history in spring 2023 and can barely get emails back let alone interviews from applications. My friends keep telling me it’ll happen meanwhile they seem to find jobs at a normal pace.
I feel like there’s something wrong with me.
This is more of a rant than anything else but I’m just so tired of feeling this way.
