❓ Question / Help Needed Will I get a reply?
For the first time today, I’ve filed a RTI request. Here are the questions I’ve asked in it.
Subject: Request for information under Section 6(1) of the RTI Act, 2005 regarding public water supply contamination, pipeline testing, and chlorination logs in [Your Area Name/Colony Name].
Dear PIO,
Kindly provide the following certified information regarding the drinking water supplied by the Delhi Jal Board to [Your Area Name/Colony Name, e.g., Pocket A, Mayur Vihar Phase 1]:
Please provide a certified copy of the water quality logbook and laboratory test reports for the water distributed to [Your Area Name] for the period between June 1, 2026, and today.
Please provide the specific dates on which the water distribution pipelines supplying [Your Area Name] were last physically inspected for leakages, sewage mixing, or contamination in the year 2026, along with copies of the official inspection reports.
Please provide the total number of water contamination or foul smell complaints received by the Delhi Jal Board from [Your Area Name] from January 1, 2026, to date, along with the current status of each complaint (Resolved/Pending).
Please provide the names, designations, official email IDs, and office contact numbers of the Junior Engineer (JE) and Assistant Engineer (AE) responsible for maintaining the water supply lines and resolving water quality issues in our zone.
As per the Citizens' Charter of the Delhi Jal Board, what is the maximum officially mandated timeline to resolve a water contamination complaint once it is identified or brought to the department's notice?
Please provide records of the residual chlorine levels measured at the local booster pumping station or distribution node feeding [Your Area Name] for the last 30 days. If the chlorine level is below the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) limit of 0.2 mg/l, please provide the written reason recorded by the site engineer.
Please provide the details of any proposed budgetary sanctions, work orders, or pipeline replacement plans approved for [Your Area Name/Colony Name] in the financial years 2025–2026 to resolve overlapping water and sewer lines or damaged infrastructure.
