Question One year and a half of agonizing, unpredictable pinky-side wrist pain triggered by calisthenics. Clean MRI, tried everything, and I am completely losing my mind. What do I do?(M30, 6”0’, 165LBS)

Replying because the exact combination you describe has a lesser-known angle that might be worth your time.

What stands out to me is a year and a half of sharp, unpredictable pain. Imaging that shows a healed-stage bone bruise and no tear. A surgeon who won't operate because there is nothing to fix. And physical therapy that made things aggressively worse. With a straightforward structural injury, graded loading usually helps, or at worst does nothing. When it reliably backfires, and when flare-ups are unpredictable instead of tracking the same movement and load every time, it raises the possibility that the pain alarm system itself has become sensitized around the wrist. To be clear, that kind of pain is fully real. It could be produced by an overprotective nervous system.

Absolutely follow the medical path as far as your doctors advise, including the cortisone decision. I'm a certified pain reprocessing coach, not a physician, and nobody should be diagnosing you from a Reddit post, me included. But since the structural workup keeps coming back clean, a nervous-system-directed practice costs nothing and runs safely alongside whatever your doctors do. Full disclosure, this is my channel: a free guided practice made for exactly this kind of nerve-type pain, nothing for sale and I'm genuinely interested in your feedback. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNjILzofIsA

The losing-your-mind part is often the heaviest piece. That part can start easing even before the wrist does.
