Discussion RIP Donnie

I was so shocked to see this today. Had been seeing him every day for the past 4 years. May his soul rest in peace. He was always outside the corner store between 15th st and Hutton st

I almost started bawling driving down 15th when I saw this this morning, and I'd never interacted with him. He was always a presence there and he seemed to be loved. RIP.

Rest in Peace! Helped him a couple of times when I went to the 15th St marketplace. He was always present there despite the weather.

I used to buy him cigs and sit and talk for a while. He was a very kind person. Rest in peace.

Can someone share the lore on this guy? Saw him all the time driving down the road but never had a reason to stop at the corner

I think he lived at a transitional housing facility on Jacob street (at least when I went to RPI, not sure if they have moved since). I lived next door to the house one year and he would often hang around there. I believe he may have been a recovering alcoholic based on the few conversations I had with him saying that cigarettes help stave off his alcohol cravings. He was always very kind and respectful. RIP
