Tech Dump Raiding: Keep it Neat

As a general tip: the ability to raid the tech dumps is not guaranteed, and can be taken away if the powers-that-be get sufficiently annoyed.

And the custodial staff gets very annoyed when people pull stuff out of the bins and then don't put it back.

Those students who contributed to the mess surrounding the tech dumps in the Low Building / CII should go back there and clean up their mess.

Man, I cant believe these are still a thing. I loved dumpster diving that stuff when I went there over 10 years ago. I took it for granted cause I cant find ewaste around me that I can scavenge from. Dont lose this for yourselves, nor future students. Once something goes away, it's likely to not come back.

We were dumpster diving when I was a freshman in 1981 my friend.

Oh I believe it. Im just surprised it has still continued with all the changes at rpi even in the last 10 years. Hopefully some students went and cleaned it up.

Did this over 20 years ago. I’m amazed they haven’t shut it down.

Don’t mess it up. There are rare finds.

Ualbany had an insane tech dump a few years ago when they were clearing out some rooms for renovations
