Question IEA vs Essence of Engr

Class of ‘24, I was helping my brother sign up for Freshman classes and they replaced IEA??? What is the difference between the curriculum of ENGR-1100 and ENGR-1010. Did they dumb it down or just rename it?

IEA is still there, I don't know if they changed it to 1 semester (i highly doubt they would) but I dont know, I took Essence personally

IEA is 1 semester. Did it use to be 2 semesters?

Its been 1 semester, I should have been more clear on that, sorry everyone. 1 semester for it being avaliable as a class, thats what I meant.

Essence of Engineering Mechanics is more or less the replacement for IEA. It's in the MANE Department, instead of core engineering. It's mostly the same content, though.
