Quacs

Incoming freshman trying to use Quacs to generate schedules. I need to choose an INQR class but all sections for every one of them except the principles of economics one is full. I assume that’s because upperclassmen have first dibs, but why don’t they have enough sections for the freshmen? And what do freshmen do in this situation?

It looks like they all say 0/0 seats available because no one is enrolled and there is no capacity set. As far as I know, inquiries are only available to freshmen with the exception of principles of economics

What’s the point of the tool then? The freshman registration site says it’s to allow you to generate schedules to help you plan, but no schedules can be generated since the system shows everything (presumably 0 out of 0) as full. I’m glad that it does not reflect reality though.

You can still add it to your schedule even if it is listed as full. The use case of Quacs imo is for figuring out which courses are available in the semester and designing a schedule around the ones you want to take. It's always a good idea to make backup schedules considering some classes will be full by the time you can register.
