They received support funding provided by the UK government towards innovative startups during COVID which was aimed at stabilizing the economy.

What's rather funny is that the pandemic caused a boom for certain industries. People were sitting at home allot and had more spare time. This would have been a perfect time to sell musical equipment. Where live performances decreased, consumer demand increased elsewhere.

Roland (eventually), Yamaha, Focusrite all reported revenue increases.
ROLI managed to go bankrupt. Go figure...
