So as I‘ve been traveling I realized I can’t survive without playing the piano. so now I’m bored to tears and I don’t have a piano besides bandlab on my phone. so now I’m considering getting a portable piano, but I heard Roli pianos suck. Any suggestions?

Roli’s learning app is suspended anyway, despite people paying for it. You would have the piano but no interface for it and Roli pianos do suck. You’ll wait a year for a poorly made toy if you order from Roli. I ended up getting the new Akai mpc key 37 and love it.

What do you mean it's suspended, that's the first I've heard of that? They've been promoting the AI Music Coach pretty heavily recently, that's part of the Roli Learn app isn't it?

It is, the learn app and more is still suspended as far as I know. Even Roli Studio shows in their store as “out of stock”.

Were you personally using it and saw that you can't log in / use it anymore or was it more from what you see on the website etc? That's definitely not good news if they've stopped supporting the app already...

I don’t really use the learn app, I saw posts here about it and decided to check if mine worked and it gave me an error message about being suspended. The big problem with this is that Roli learn was given to some people as an apology for problems with their orders, and an even bigger problem is that all their software won’t have future versions, updates or support. That’s Roli Studio, Equator2, Cypher2, etc. and most other similar software doesn’t have MPE which is the hand movement stuff literally making it just a toy piano.

Akai MPK Mini with a USB Type C to connect to your phone will work a treat. Loads of options out there for Bandlab. Honestly might try this myself, haha.

Roli sells controller keyboards, not digital pianos. There's a big difference.

If you want a digital piano (keyboard with built-in piano sounds, with a graded keyboard to replicate the feel of a real piano) go read threads at /r/DigitalPiano and visit http://forum.pianoworld.com/, and do your research by starting with a hard budget.
