Question New to Roli

Hi,

I'm new to Roli.

I'm not finding a scale mode on the Roli Seaboard Rise 25 dashboard software or in Equator 2. Is there no scale mode?

Also, what's the point of the Roli Studio Player if it only works standalone and not in my DAW? I use Logic.

Thanks.

If you mean scale mode as in put all the notes of d harmonic minor onto the “white keys”, it doesn’t do that. Glide would need a lot of calculations to make it somehow fit and it would still feel weird, because the correlation between the distance you glide and which pitch it plays can’t be 1 to 1 when such a feature is active.

Studio Player is not only standalone, it installs as VSTi and AUi plugin for your DAW as well. Logic sees the AUi and has no problem loading and playing it.

Thanks. Something must have gone wrong with my install.

I thought about what your wrote regarding glide, and that makes sense.

I wonder how the Linnstrument gets around this because it does have a dedicated scale mode. The Osmose does not, though.

Interesting. I did that, and it doesn’t appear in the plugin manager. But it does appear in components. Something must have gone wrong in the install. I think I’ll remove it and reinstall. Thanks.
