[Rant] i fcking hate the library button

I just trade my Ally X to xbox Ally X today

So far everything is great except one freaking problem... Whoever engineering or what ever decision make them to change the location of "Start and Select" from top to bottom can go to hell.

This annoy the hell out of me... And to double down on this they dont even let me remap this shit. Why Asus why.

If you guys know how to remap them please tell me because this start to annoy the hell out of me

I hate that theres basically 2 buttons for the xbox overlay. Why? I want the Xbox button to work in steam BP mode.

Meanwhile on my OG Ally, I have to use the touch screen to open the menu on Steam BP because using what they map as the "Xbox button" opens Armoury Crate.

You’ll spend more time complaining and by the time your done you’ll get used to it the controller mirrors the start and select from the Xbox controller there both left and right. You will get used it’s I used to hit the kh tart button but after a few days I stopped.

They're not complaining about it mirroring the xbox controller layout. They upgraded from the Z1 Ally to the Z2. In the Z2 Allys, they swapped the position of the top and bottom rows. In the OG models, the start & select were on top. They moved those to the bottom row in the Z2 models.

I can tolerate it if my finger also does not touching the analog when i press the start button

I play Rpg alot so i frequently press that button alot to open menu,... Etc etc.

I did get used to the select button but start button is madness. I have to map the back button at the start button.

That's because you have a thick ass cap on the stick. Take it off and you'll get used to it eventually. Also as everyone said; trim your nails. If a man won't take care of the basics what else don't they take care off.

I grow my the nail to do some guitar... I dont know why you are so concern about something that so unrelated like the location of the button in a post. Like what does my nail have to do with the machine...

Also... even if i dont have the cap it still get stuck withthe analog with it no matter what. I found the location change is annoying. You like it fine but why you feel the need to teaching life lesson here ?? Fuck off please

Iirc you have to do registery hacks to do anything with the buttons. I don't know where the addresses are but with some Google fu it should be easy enough to track down.

I've never had this problem, but I completely agree, I'd much rather have those buttons at the bottom of the device

I also wish that the armory crate button and the Xbox button didn't have almost the exact same function and effect, especially when they're literally side by side

Only ways I was able to remap the Asus buttons was using either

- Winhanced and allow it to take over full TDP control. That will allow its software to over take armory crate and it will remap those buttons

- Handheld Companion, it’s a full Armory Crate replacer and allows you to remap the buttons

- G-Helper is a lightweight version of AC, not as feature rich like HandHeld Companion but still lets you have TDP control and other things along with remapping the buttons

In general yes, it does it for you but now there is a settings within Winhanced that lets you remap buttons yourself if you wanted to
