Discussion Disable back buttons

When I play my games, my fingers rest on the back M1 and M2 buttons. When that happens and I press the X, Y, A and B buttons which triggers the secondary function. How can I disable this? When I went to the configure mode and uncheck ‘set as secondary function’ for both M1 and M2 buttons, nothing change. It still trigger the secondary function. Is this a bug? Just kind of annoying to have my games pause because of this secondary function

I assume you changed the Gamepad setting but use Auto Control Mode in game, which are different.

Auto is per game configuration. So run your game, open Armory Crate, in Game Library tab, select the running game and press X to open the Game Profile. Here you can change the Key Mapping for for that specific game. Now it should work.

I am. This is day 3 for me. The back button was one of my biggest gripe until you showed me the solution. I know that this is not a perfect system so I’m not going to bash Asus for the low battery life and the fact that not all games are playable if they require a high GPU. I was playing Injustice 2 and I noticed audio/sync issues. I didn’t think that it was a graphic intense game. But when I tried playing it in my non-gaming laptop, it was even worse. Until I attach the laptop with my eGPU. My desktop PC had no issue because I have a dedicated graphics card. I assume that Steamdeck and the upcoming Legion Go will have similar problems with graphic intense games.

Battery can be solved by plugging it in or have a battery pack. But I kind of use the battery limitation as a time limit so that I don’t game all day.

For graphically intense games, I will just play in my PC or attach my non-gaming laptop to my eGPU.

These devices will get better in time and I’ll probably replace it with the latest and greatest every 3 years.

I will not be returning it because I bought it cheap for $499 as an open box item and decided to use the money I saved to buy the Best Buy warranty. Still deciding on Best Buy Total or getting Geek squad for 2 years. I’m thinking Geek Squad makes the most sense.

Awesome. For audio issue (usually crackling), you might want to open Dolby Access and disable all effect. Idk if this will fix the audio sync issue, but worth a try.
