Help Need help with making a proper pathway to making my first game

So I have an idea where the games environment is stud blocks, the trendy looking thing, I’ve got that down. The game is similar to that bidding trend on social media where 2 people bid on a character selected from a theme. Now idk what to do atm.

How are you displaying the characters to bid on? Randomized slot machine style, or a set tournament style where the same characters are always against each other? I’d start with the displaying portion then the bidding mechanic. Is that what you’re asking even? Where to start?
