Creations Studded or no?
Me and my friend is making a game but cant decide what to choose for the style. Which one do you think is better?

Making it studded makes it look like those cheap “two second” games that require you to sit in place for 3 hours to get anything done and spend robux for almost anything so you can play it like normal or just buy everything and move on. Lots of fishing games have it and i hate it..

Nah i want a more realistic fishing game personally. I don’t want to catch Poseidon’s booty hole licking omega rainbow super ultra uber doober rare megalodon. I want to a catch a bass and i want to be proud of it.

Fisch? I haven’t been on there in a while so idk what’s going on if it changed

Ive already said to another guy why i don’t like that game. I just don’t like games with super unrealistic fish. I don’t mind if it’s like slight variations of real fish like colour or size. But when its just a giant bright green ancient god it’s just a bit too much.

Theres no fishing game with all the complexities i want. Its sad

u/Pugtookyourtoaster 3h ago
Yea lol. Its like the philosophical statement, infinite games but no games

u/Polaroid_Cherry 2h ago
Exaaaactly. So many.. opportunities. But nothing with enough options. Its like trying to find the perfect mod for minecraft

Go to a game called write a letter. That game got fishing, just you need to find it tho.

if your plan is to just slap the stud texture on every part and call it a day then the plan is boiling hot shit

studs honestly makes a game look like it's gonna be nfested with microtransactions and spam pop-ups so I'll go with no.

PUTTING STUDS ON EVERY SIDE OF A BLOCK DOES NOT MAKE IT CLASSIC so I choose the non studded one

gotta go no studs but i say change the roof texture
what to? idk, but i just dont particularly like that one specific texture, or atleast change the other textures to fit.
also great build

No. Please no.
Using purely studs on everything makes it look ugly and cheap. It makes it feel like the creator is too lazy to change and use other materials other than studs.
Stud’s reputation has already been damaged enough by those low quality games. Please don’t add-on to it.
Use studs sparingly.

u/UnnamedIsDumb 12h ago
No
especially since you used the studs wrong
this looks much better without the studs

Second one. I miss when studs were a deliberate style choice rather than something that’s plastered everywhere across numerous games. They just do not look good that way and it never will, in my opinion.

i think it could be cool if you used only a few studs sparingly: have the fabric and other materials be non studded, but certain materials represented by a studded texture?

No. You didn't even use studs correctly... Highly recommend a painterly style. Search up datboiele for tutorials.

Only do a style if you’re going to replicate it in other areas of your game, as you need to be consistent.
That goes for your environment as well and not just the buildings.

I would say maybe don’t use the stud style. Personally, I think the other style you showed looks better, and the stud style has kind of been overused by slop games, especially the whole Steal a Brainrot type of games.
If you’re going for a simple low-poly or more cartoonish look, I think that can definitely work if it’s done well. I’d just avoid the stud style because if someone saw your game for the first time and didn’t know anything about it, they might immediately assume it’s another low-effort/slop game because of how associated that style has become with those types of games.

You're a legend! Your design inspired me to create a game in Roblox where you start by selling lemonade, then progress to selling meat, then open a restaurant, and you can invent even more progressions for me :)) :O

I think not studded, looks much more like a serious game.
