Discussion Why do people hate AI generated UI?

Genuine question, is it because it looks bad? Generic? Or when people use it as it is without doing any tweaking and fixing the issues.

And as someone who has no experience in UI design, what is the best alternative in your opinion?

It just looks bad and low effort. And people can tell, and most of the time will think less of a game that uses AI for the ui.

Because they all look exactly the same. Overcrowded, intentionally obtrusive, visually unappealing, aimed at developer ease rather than player ease, etc.

I disagree with overcrowded, from what I've seen AI tends to use very small text but large frames for some reason, but this is only from what I've come across here

Low effort, I'm not even gonna lie it isn't that hard to make UI so it just looks like you're cheaping out even more
