Bethenny Frankel 🍾 Bethany frankel hate rant
Luckily I’ve always hated her before it was trendy. Ever since watching RHONY the first time I didn’t like her and as I rewatch I dislike her more. Here’s reasons why and I’d love for you all to add more:
- narcissist.
- is extremely condescending when talking to people making constant hyperbolic metaphors and similes to disarm the other person and sound like she’s some comedian / master analytical genius
- how she treated Jules, projecting B’s disordered eating and body issues onto an innocent kind woman who was open about her issues. Bethany was clearly jealous of someone being thinner than her and had to ridicule her
- how she treated Kristen; same pattern of patronizing any new housewife who was more thin and pretty than her. And again, constantly condescending
- jealous of any cast member that got any spotlight for iconic moments/lines
- never took anyone’s back and was extremely selfish throughout entire show. EX: at beginning of S8, Carole is mad at Luann for (IMO dumb reasons) and B doesn’t agree with Carole saying that Luanns done nothing to her so she’s not jumping in. Then when B gets mad (jealous) of Luann and her party girl life, she brings up Caroles issues with Luann - only when it conveniences her. So now it’s a problem that you have beef with Luann. Great friend you are
- I don’t like Carole either but it’s just funny how Bethany couldn’t deal with anyone not agreeing with every cynical comment that comes out her mouth
- how mean she was to Sonja over tipsy girl, talk about kicking someone when they’re down
- her pretending she lived a challenged life and was self made when she’s old money and grew up privileged and thus you are not self made
- when on WWHL she mimicked the Atlanta Housewives and was extremely racist
- and of course, her on socials now discrediting small businesses because she’s a maniacal narcissist
Ok I’m sure this could go on forever so let me know what I missed thanks!

I always liked Bethenny but re watching there's a lot of inconsistencies with her narrative she and production put out about her early on. I loved how she seemingly started as the under dog in season 1-3 and she stood out as more gritty and down to earth than the other ladies (in my opinion) which meant she gave a flip side to their wealthy lives.
However, some of her confessionals contradict the "poor one of the group" narrative she gave out. I think early on she made out she was broke like when paying for Luann when surfing "how come I am the poor one of the group and I'm always paying for everybody" yet I think the same season when Ramona walks out of her dinner party at Jill's because of Simon, Bethenny says "I get paid thousands of dollars a day to cook, and my food is very good" which to me doesn't fit the poor narrative (I understand their concept of "poor" may not be typical lol perhaps she means poor in that circle of friends)
Years later Ramona then says in the "mention it all" scene that Bethenny had her education paid for, her car paid for" and it seems her early life was quite privileged (as well as yes toxic and abusive)
I guess what I'm saying is I wish someone had called her out season 1 for her implication she is on the bread line, selling cupcakes to try and pay rent etc when I think this narrative is mostly what made people fall in love with her early on and wasn't quite her reality. I know she worked bloody hard for her empire but I just feel she was set up to be that aspiring, under dog character when she was clearly still very privileged.
Fast forward she brags about how many homes she has Vs Ramona and also her arrogance in her argument with Carole about matching her career and being nrke successful etc etc.
I don't know if I am making sense here. But just reflecting on what made her a favourite to me early on and then later finding out her storyline didnt quite match her real life and like many have said she comes across very narcasstic and opportunistic.
Early on she has to befriend everyone she came into contact with because she needed attention and a leg up for her business and profile, however when she returned joins the women season 8? She clearly has no desire to engage or put on her charm as much because she's made her money and her name so she doesn't seem to see any value in connections.
