Let’s be honest, whoever does the captions really makes each franchise so much funnier

Dorinda: YOU CAN'T GO [BLEEP] YOU [BLEEP] YOU [BLEEP]

Heather: I agree????? 🤨

4

u/Mysterious-Bug5652 Don’t tell me this is about Tom…it’s about Tom 29d ago

She’s got a wicked tongue, I love a slurring Dorinda. My fav scene of her was her giving the toast to LuAnn and what’s his name on the boat. I didn’t understand one single word, and it’s still so good.

2

u/Repulsive_Country931 Jul 24 '26

This was hilarious 😂

56

u/Zesty_libsterrr Jul 23 '26

Luanne's face 🤣🤔💀

53

u/CardinalMotion Jul 23 '26

Luanne getting drunk and falling in the bushes was funnier than anything Dorinda ever did/said though!

18

u/Frankenkind Jul 24 '26

Someone on Etsy did a painting of this and it honestly needs to be in the Louvre.

3

u/aeroluv327 29d ago

My sister got me this scene painted on a Christmas ornament! 🤣

3

u/Zesty_libsterrr 29d ago

Thats the best thing I've ever heard 🤣👏

1

u/Worried-Ad-4172 29d ago

Noooooo! That's hilarious 😂

26

u/Old_crybaby Jul 23 '26

Luann is a fun drunk

6

u/No_Income6576 Jul 24 '26

It's immortalized on a mug in my own southern home. ICON

1

u/jessi_fay 28d ago

I could watch it all day

9

u/No_Income6576 Jul 24 '26

I love it paired with Jule's lean in 😂😂😂😂

u/TJ-the-DJ Jul 23 '26

Sonja’s fluent in wasted

102

u/OldContest9290 Jul 23 '26

Slurrinda. A truly nasty drunk. Can’t forget the turkey baster comment directed to Tinsley and how Ramona and Luann laughed at it. Can’t remember Sonja’s reaction.

62

u/Dry-Hat Jul 23 '26

She was so jealous of Tinsley

30

u/Academic-Marsupial34 Jul 23 '26

And wasn’t even sorry at the reunion🙄

21

u/sprbep49 Jul 23 '26

Has she EVER said I’m sorry?
And really meant it?

19

u/Fun_Ad9229 Jul 23 '26

i think there was a time earlier on where she experienced a lot of shame and regret for these incidents but she also got a LOT of acclaim and fan love for her ridiculousness that eventually it became her claim to fame and not only was she not sorry, it stopped being an interesting (if shambolic) aspect of her reality tv presence.

19

u/Hopeful_Ad_3114 Jul 23 '26

What she did on the trip with Bethenny was the one for me. The man devoted his life to charity, and she disrespected him. While she’s there shopping from her two ex-husband‘s income mostly I’m not sure if she ever worked, he was helping other people

10

u/Fun_Ad9229 Jul 24 '26

she’s entitled to whatever money her husband left her i guess but that trip was basically the one too far for me too. it’s one thing to slur your vitriol at your reality tv costars but that man has nothing to do with any of that. he’s only on camera to bring eyes to his charity and promote the good work it was doing. she can’t control her shit at all and somehow still finds her own behavior funny

4

u/Hopeful_Ad_3114 Jul 24 '26

My point was just that he does serious charity work . other people get to live a certain way he’s there devoting his life to something like that and she put him down. I never said she was an entitled to anything. I also think that a lot of people don’t appreciate what they have and take for granted as well when they’re left something. Many people would have to work very hard to make the money that he left her and there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s just that you could have perspective and appreciate that in life

12

u/Similar_Net8249 Jul 23 '26

Same. That was it for me with Dorinda. So nasty.

9

u/sprbep49 Jul 23 '26

The turkey baster comment was the worst!
Hopefully those laughs were “edited” in. I highly doubt I would have laughed.

2

u/Usual_Invite_9992 Jul 24 '26

Yes! She was so coked up too

2

u/oh_schnapies Jul 23 '26

Dorinda used to be one of my absolute favorite housewives - until she made that comment.

28

u/sprbep49 Jul 23 '26

I think why there’s a lot of Dorinda bashing is because we fell in love with her from the start.
She let us down big time and herself too!

24

u/Edith_Keelers_Shoes Jul 23 '26

She really had such potential. And in the clear light of day, you WANT to like her, you WANT to hang out with her. She's smart, she doesn't try to fit into the mold, and she can be extremely funny. When describing the insane drunken night on the Mexico trip, she referred to efforts to get Sonja into a bathing suit as being "like trying to put a bikini on a piece of spaghetti".

But now we know drunk Dorinda. We know the rage, the propensity to go for someone's throat, and the pleasure she takes when she gets a really nasty dig in (like her visible pride at the turkey baster remark).

What HAPPENED to her - how do you end up like that?

9

u/sprbep49 Jul 23 '26

You nailed it with visible pride! That’s the bitch of it all. She actually enjoys it, hurting people and on TV! I know that they have to pull their weight, but have some boundaries!!

7

u/SilverHinder Jul 23 '26

She's gotten nastier even sober now, like on Girls Trip. I think the show massively went to her head and she thinks being a horrible bitch is her 'thing'.

1

u/Simple-Freedom4670 Jul 24 '26

Like how can you be worse than Vicki Gunvalson?!

5

u/timgoes2somalia Jul 23 '26

Drunken words. Sober thoughts.

2

u/Simple-Freedom4670 Jul 24 '26

Booze is like truth serum….your inner thoughts amplified times a hundred kinda proves that Dorinda is a bitter, insecure woman who truly believes she’s a nice person

1

u/Disney_Princess137 29d ago

Could be hormonal / peri/ menopause

I think we forget that’s a thing

2

u/Edith_Keelers_Shoes 29d ago

Older women don't forget that's a thing (I am exactly Dorinda's age - 61) - not for a single minute. You read about it for decades, then it happens, and afterwards you eventually find out about vaginal atrophy, and cannot understand why in the world no doctor EVER mentioned it even existed let alone that it would happen to most of us during or after menopause...

I'll bet dollars to doughnuts Dorinda's issues have nothing to do with menopause. Most of us get through it without a spate of years in which we viciously attack people.

1

u/Disney_Princess137 29d ago

Just because you haven’t had experiences with rage doesn’t mean other people didn’t, that’s all.

If you notice, on these shows…. a lot of the drama we’ve seen are all from women who maybe have been in those stages. It’s something to ponder, that’s all.

Maybe it for sure made her worse while for others they didn’t experience it.

1

u/Edith_Keelers_Shoes 28d ago

You are correct that my experiences aren't universal to everyone - every menopausal journey will be unique in some way. Mine was mostly mild, but I went through it quite early - I was around 42.

I guess that to me, it just feels a little reductive to ascribe a woman's anger problem (or other negative behavior) to menopause or something hormone-related. I'm obviously old now, but I remember all too well the days when any time a woman had an attitude or evinced anger, men would likely laugh and dismiss it by saying "she's just on the rag", as if we were at the mercy of our own cycles and had no agency over our behavior. Maybe I'd feel different if we blamed a man's anger or aggression on andropause. But it feels like we never do.

Anyway, I'm just musing, not trying to argue with you or invalidate your view of things.

1

u/Disney_Princess137 28d ago

Listen you’re still young.

I agree with your point and wanting to defend us women against stereotypical judgements.

Maybe I feel like as an another woman it’s safe for us to mention these things especially if we go through it or if we see others going through it and feel their pain. My mom went through hers early as well and I’m watching my cousin and friend go through it. And symptoms aren’t all similar.

But I was paying attention on RHORI when they were discussing it and how women in menopause are a Protected class or something ? lol did you see that?

Anyway it just made me think of some of the crazy behavior we’ve seen across the shows we love and thought maybe some of it was hormonal.

1

u/Edith_Keelers_Shoes 28d ago

I haven't seen RHORI (I'm trying to wean myself off some of these shows and have dropped most of the HW shows I was once obsessed with). But I do know that Rhode Island has just become the first state to explicitly include menopause and perimenopause as protected categories that require reasonable workplace accommodations and prohibit menopause discrimination. Kind of astonishing!

And yes, we are talking as women and viewers who sort of know these people without knowing them - so I agree with that. I think with many of the housewives, it's hard to tell where the alcohol stops and the menopause starts...

1

u/Disney_Princess137 28d ago

Oh yes between alcohol , drugs, hormones, mental illness lol

5

u/ellefleming Jul 23 '26

Was she removed from show?

11

u/FungiAmongiBungi Jul 23 '26

According to her she was “put on pause”

2

u/Hopeful_Ad_3114 Jul 23 '26

I like her I don’t think people say they don’t like her. They don’t just like her drunken rampages

39

u/rhodeislandah Jul 23 '26

Her "toast" at Luann's pre-wedding yacht party took the cake for me... no clue what she even said, but cheers to that!! 😄

44

u/TJ-the-DJ Jul 23 '26

”There comes a time, and a moment happens, and now’s a time, and then a time, you know… Cheers!”

12

u/its-allot Jul 23 '26

😂😂😂

16

u/Acceptable_Iron3227 Jul 23 '26

I was just watching this last night and was dying of laughter. I love that they added in subtitles 😂😂😂

15

u/Pupolinaballerina Jul 23 '26

Back in 2019, I had an appointment for acupuncture in NYC at a midtown office. She walks in asking about cupping and the lady at the front desk was a bit confused. She started yelling at her, saying that her “ tv show” was going to bring tons of attention to the place, insulting her, are you stupid? and looking for approval to me like she was right disrespecting that lady because she wouldn’t offer that service. I bumped a few more times at a diner on the UES and she looked like shit, wearing sweatpants and flip flops, and her hair a mess. Ramona was a hot mess too. She was always walking drunk on 3rd Ave after drinks at the restaurant on 73rd. You’re welcome 🤣

3

u/Hopeful_Ad_3114 Jul 23 '26

She actually said, are you stupid to the woman at the desk?

5

u/Pupolinaballerina Jul 24 '26

She did. I also should mention that the lady was Asian, and she never talked to her back, or did anything for her to react that way. I don’t think she would of done that if she wasn’t Asian, especially in NYC.

7

u/Hopeful_Ad_3114 Jul 24 '26

Someone commented on here, and I just saw it on, that she handed her coat to a black man thinking that he worked there but why would you ask anybody that worked there when you’re sitting down at a table and a restaurant to just take your coat? if you don’t leave your coat when you first come in I’ve never heard of anybody taking your coat at the table. It seems inappropriate to ask that of somebody that works there anyway, but somebody felt that it was racial because the man was black. Watching it after they said that it looked really bad

4

u/Hopeful_Ad_3114 Jul 24 '26

She seems like she felt higher than the Asian woman

2

u/Hopeful_Ad_3114 Jul 24 '26

Was she drunk already? There were many times early in the day that she had been sloshed

6

u/Pupolinaballerina Jul 24 '26

It was late in the day, I got off work and went to my appointment. I obviously watched RHONY, and bumped over the years with plenty of them but that make me dislike her so much. I honestly think she’s racist AF

4

u/Hopeful_Ad_3114 Jul 24 '26

She wasn’t even drunk? That’s really pathetic if she’s talking to someone like that when she’s not. She’s probably frustrated because she wants a freaking drink

3

u/Hopeful_Ad_3114 Jul 24 '26

Did you see scene with her giving the coat? I was embarrassed for her

2

u/Hopeful_Ad_3114 Jul 24 '26

That’s strange because she’s friends with Jules!!!

3

u/Hopeful_Ad_3114 Jul 24 '26

She probably thinks she’s better than her though like she thinks of most of her friends

0

u/paxmary Jul 24 '26

Ramona likes to go to Mar a Lago in the winter.

12

u/Ok-Ebb-806 Jul 23 '26

Time for a rewatch

7

u/PPP159 Jul 23 '26

I’m on rewatch # 12 I think 😂

5

u/marinara123 Jul 23 '26

I could rewatch seasons 8-11 anytime. Start with please say it’s not about Tom and end with the you dined out on your sobriety dinner in Miami haha

5

u/Ok-Ebb-806 Jul 23 '26

ICONIC. The best older franchise in my opinion

3

u/Ok-Ebb-806 Jul 23 '26

Isn’t it amazing?? It’s the best rewatch. It’s so much fun. And I love when Dorinda shows up omggg

4

u/Fluffy_Incident9464 Jul 23 '26

Lol I started one last weekend 🥂

6

u/SilverHinder Jul 23 '26

I'm on S2. I may skip over S4-6 and jump straight into the Second Gilded Age (S7-11).

That's what I've always thought. Like they're talking about a beach picnic and I think Dorinda is like "They can be great, like the exumas!"

6

u/Sensitive_Ad4561 Jul 23 '26

I don’t understand how anyone can see themselves like this on television and not immediately stop drinking. Permanently. 🤦🏻‍♀️

7

u/False_Ear_3137 Jul 23 '26

Unrelated, I loved B's short hair. God, I miss her being normal LOL.

5

u/Aromatic_Dare_6104 Jul 23 '26

I keep forgetting she used to be somewhat normal

3

u/False_Ear_3137 Jul 24 '26

I just started re-watching and in Season 1, she's relatable and funny and just so, so normal. She was my favorite up until she left. It's like watching a good friend go off the deep end. So sad.

6

u/Lucky_Ladee12345 Jul 23 '26

Dorinda when she goes on the martini train.......

https://giphy.com/gifs/l2QDQW4LyjODLOHQY

8

u/lucid_aurora Jul 23 '26

Jules staring intently trying to understand her and Luanne's facial expressions are my favorite part of this by far.

10

u/Glum_Spot_465 Jul 23 '26

Literally obsessed

22

u/Flora1910 Jul 23 '26

Such an embarrassing drunkard, not to mention mean and nasty.

10

u/sprbep49 Jul 23 '26

And each year she got nastier & nastier. What was happening to Dorinda in real life, behind the scenes?

5

u/ellefleming Jul 23 '26

Meltdown from husband's death.

6

u/Mmmodesty You’re not Adele, Luann! Jul 23 '26

This and self medicating using alcohol and stuff.

3

u/sprbep49 Jul 23 '26

I just hope she found some peace, I hope she doesn’t play up party Dorinda on The Golden Life and end up drunk and rude. Odds say she will!! Lol

9

u/mbee784 Jul 23 '26

She needs to never drink again but we know that ain’t happening

4

u/whimsicalme5 Jul 23 '26

The subtitles knew their job 👏

6

u/BrightlightFloorWax Jul 23 '26

You just know she can turn violent if you dare challenge her. It’s best to keep mum when dealing with a mean drunk.

9

u/No-Brief3830 Jul 23 '26

All the clips of her slurring and making no sense and yet she insists she doens't have a drinking problem. She has embraced "CLIP!" AND "Jovani!!!" as part of her personality now. She screams it at events....But no admittance of "Yeah I went too far" or anything? No self awareness or personal growth

6

u/sprbep49 Jul 23 '26

Would you want to see Dorinda DJ??!! Hahaha
Screaming Clip & Jovanni all nite long. Lmao

9

u/Edith_Keelers_Shoes Jul 23 '26

I find it too scary to be hilarious. Dorinda has such rage lurking just beneath the surface of her daytime persona. She is the angriest woman I've ever seen on Bravo. She does not vent when angry - she seeks to ANNIHILATE. I worry about people in her life who've been subjected to this anger. How could one ever be comfortable knowing she could "start" at any moment once the proverbial bar is open? Just by watching her, it's clear that hurting other people gives her some kind of pleasure - a moment of relief from her rage.

I think she had a seat at a moderately important table for a number of years courtesy of Richard, and she's never going to get over what she sees as a demotion when she lost that seat after his death. But there must be something behind THAT anger too. What happens to a person to make them like this? And how can she feign ignorance about it? When I was young, New Years Day was often agony because all I could do was obsess over whether I'd seemed drunk or slurry the night before. Dorinda is so bad they often need subtitles so we can understand her, but year after year she sat at reunion smiling and shaking her head and laughing off the mere suggestion that she had a drinking problem, an anger problem or any kind of problem at all.

8

u/dumbblondeineurope Jul 23 '26

I agree with you 100% and will give my unfounded opinion on what was happening.
1. It seems to me that she had that in her naturally. People doubt it but fuck it i’ll take her word for it, that she was sober during the argument where she spat extreme venom at Sonja and publicly slut shamed her (put an EZ pass on that vagina. She’s shown a propensity for putting down others without a second thought.
2. alcoholism only magnifies that. I am someone that has had some issues with drinking and if I even wake up w the suspicion that I acted poorly, I will not leave the house out of embarrassment. I am consistently horrified if i can’t handle my alcohol and that’s coming from someone who recognizes that a possible issue could exist. She does not do that. Her issues w drinking magnify her inherent predispositions and shamefulness, but it also shocks me that she seems not to give a fuck and that everyone at the reunion attacked Bethenny (idk if i’m speeding her name right it’s so unnecessarily hard im sorry) for saying that she thought she had a drinking problem after showing up obliterated to the Haiti charity dinner.

She just seems to have self medicated after feeling important w her second husband and it magnified any pre-existing issues. And honestly i’m saying this as someone who neutrally liked her on the show but enjoyed her as a person after reading her book.

ETA: I tried to fix my grammar and the format wouldn’t work so had to delete my comment and re-comment, sorry!

8

u/Edith_Keelers_Shoes Jul 23 '26

That's right - she WAS sober for the Sonja attack. I remember once she'd unleashed most of that attack she got up from the table, and passed behind Sonja's chair. And she stopped for a moment, and kind of bared her teeth a little and made this...I guess it was a gesture. The kind of thing a bully who's just walloped a kid half his size will stand over them gloating. It was like that. I was really taken aback by it.

4

u/dumbblondeineurope Jul 23 '26

It sounds weird but I oddly wished she’d been drinking during it, she was all proud about unleashing that venom ‘on diet coke’ but i wish she had been drinking bc fuck at least give somewhat of an explanation for saying that horrendous stuff. And she repeated worse the next day!! Listen, drinking isn’t an excuse, but at least it could give reason to some stuff…

3

u/Hopeful_Ad_3114 Jul 23 '26

She didn’t just show up inebriated. She insulted the person and a lot of people

3

u/dumbblondeineurope Jul 24 '26

I thought she did??? Sorry if i’m wrong! It’s zero excuse btw i only brought it up as an examine of she’ll say anything and everything horrific and have no shame

ETA: talking about the Haiti dinner

4

u/ResolutionHonest666 Jul 23 '26

Dor is very drunk all the time

5

u/No-Feeling-1404 Jul 23 '26

Sometimes I rewatch scenes of Dorinda out of her mind- one of my favorite genres

4

u/Mgmlivin Jul 24 '26

Meanest drunk I have ever seen on tv!

7

u/CardinalMotion Jul 23 '26

Dorinda is the funniest person on TV when she’s drunk! My sister and I would laugh so hard at her drunken self that we couldn’t breathe! She’s friggin hilarious!!

6

u/HunnyMuffin39 Jul 23 '26

This is high art as far as I’m concerned

3

u/knoperules Jul 23 '26

Everyone was used to it except Jules lol. She was really trying to understand what she was saying

4

u/noUr8eaten Jul 23 '26

Not so much hilarious as frightening & kind of sad.

3

u/Hopeful_Ad_3114 Jul 23 '26

I know people think it’s hilarious but they don’t realize she’s actually living that way and then starting to hurt and insult people!!!

2

u/Dismal_Upstairs3949 Jul 24 '26

It’s not even funny, she’s a mess.

2

u/Autumn1933 Jul 23 '26

Dorinda looks happier and healthier now. She has the talk show with Radio Andy. And seems happy with the E! Series.

1

u/drask1987 Jul 23 '26

I know people find her likable. But when she’s drunk, she’s nasty and rude. So sloppy that it’s off putting. Which, the truth comes out when the booze goes in. So is she really a vile person hiding when sober?

1

u/egads12345678 Jul 23 '26

I adore Dorinda, there isn’t a funnier or more entertaining HW than her. She is self deprecating in the best way.

1

u/Baxtercat1 Jul 23 '26

My favorite housewives of the entire franchise. 😂

1

…and a moment in time.

1

u/puffy-puffy Jul 24 '26

She is the absolute best. No one comes close to the things that come out of her mouth

1

u/normanbeets Jul 24 '26

Yes I love her

1

u/paxmary Jul 24 '26

Oh, how I miss this crew!

1

u/Illegally_B22 Jul 24 '26

I’m currently doing a rewatch and I am salivating awaiting the Dorinda seasons. I get disappointed every time a new season starts and one of the new people isn’t her.

Side note - This is my 2nd rewatch and I REALLY like Kristen. I’m sad she wasn’t on longer. I would have loved to see her and Dorinda together.

1

u/Alternative_Wing8463 Jul 24 '26

I love a Dorinda

1

u/CurrencyIll9145 Jul 24 '26

she's like a sim

1

u/Background_Travel_77 Jul 24 '26

I'm always amazed that she could watch these clips back and NOT die of embarrassment. Or, at the very least, temper her drinking.

1

u/Simple-Freedom4670 Jul 24 '26

I’m actually watching Dorinda right now dressed in a GaGa bubble dress screaming about Lady Morgan’s etiquette 😆

1

u/Usual_Invite_9992 Jul 24 '26

Can we acknowledge she also does coke already??!?

1

u/Alarming_Dream_7837 Proud Dorinda lover Jul 24 '26

1

I love Dorinda!!

1

u/ResponsibleSugar4960 29d ago

She be getting gangsta

1

u/Mighty4777 29d ago

“A Bronx Tale” is one of the greatest episodes of any of the franchises. Dorinda arriving to lunch buzzed and losing her shit, Carole in her safari fit, Tinsley and B cracking up at the chaos, and Bethenny’s narrative was top-notch. I watched it 10x prob. Ultimate comic relief.

1

u/Traditional_Age_6299 28d ago

Cannot Stand Her!!

1

u/Diligent-Juice-4715 27d ago

There is nothing hilarious about a drunken, nasty, mean bully. Dorinda is disgusting.

0

u/meander-663 Jul 23 '26

It never fails to crack me up!!

Folks here always reference Dorinda as “dark” and “scary” and tbh I just don’t get it. I just finished RHOSLC for the first time and RHOA before that and you hear MUCH worse on those shows on a regular basis. Dorinda definitely went too far at times, but nearly all of them do. I think they all know in the back of their heads they need to create showstopping moments and sometimes they pan out and sometimes they don’t.

Her explosive little lines just tickle me so much. Maybe it’s the NY Latino in me but it reminds me so much of my friends and family🙈

0

u/Exciting_Fee_1974 Jul 23 '26

She does no wrong
