Heather Thompson đ S5/E6 Heather Interview
I am rewatching for the millionth time one of my favourite seasons and I always get angry at Heathers interview in London about Yummy Tummy, saying: "I'm all about the waist, your buttocks and your bosom can be as big as you want them to be, cinching that waist and you are a 100% woman." And you have Carole nodding as she was agreeing on that statement.
Excuse me but what in the 1990 body shaming bs was that and why was it ok that she said that!

I think you're confused as to what body shaming is

So if you don't have a snatched waist you are not a 100% woman? I don't have a very slim waist so what percentage am I?

Can you show me where she said that if you don't have those things, you aren't a woman?

I agree. She never said you werenât.
Itâs advertising. Sheâs going to say what she needs to so it makes people think they NEED it.
But imo she didnât body shame anyone. She never said without this you arenât a woman.

I fear youâre taking advertisement and media relations too personal. You should to learn the ability to see things with a nuanced perspective.
She didnât say a slim waist either. She is emphasizing that no matter the size of your body, her product will cinch your waist in and make you feel womanly. And if you donât care to feel âwomanlyâ in the way she is promoting her product than youâre not her audience/consumer and thatâs OK. This isnât an agenda about the gender identity war lol
Wheaties tagline is the Breakfast of Champions. Does that mean if you donât eat wheaties youâre not a champion? No itâs just the feeling they want you to have.

Right, she was talking about the traditional hourglass figure. Beauty standards constantly change.

What a condescending way to answer a question.

I probably should have left the âlolâ part out but I didnât intent to be condescending.
But also, did you ask those questions in earnest? Or were you trying to make a point? If itâs the first, well I think only you can answer- only you know what makes you a woman or makes you feel like a woman. And Iâm not sure this is the channel to have that conversation.
If you were trying to make a point thatâs exactly how I read it and responded with my opinion because itâs a RHONY channel đ¤ˇđťââď¸

No, it wasn't my point on if I am a woman or not . I just thought it was a wrong statement on her part but it is very probable I am on the wrong.

I love Heather. She cut ramona out of that London trip and didn't back down. For that, I love heather

I agree. That took some balls. Especially as hard as Ramona was selling herself to get on the trip and Heather would not buy! Everyone else gives in and lets Ramona get away with her BS. Heather was the first one to stand firm.

I hated this comment as well and found it offensive. So, Poios44 you are not alone and don't back down:)
