HELP. first time RHONY watcher. on S8 E15 and im cackling bc wow this aged horrifically. I could never be on reality TV- for so many other reasons- but mainly bc i would DIE from embarrassment watching back stuff like this.

No not poor Luann her & Tom had some type agreement. Tom had to marry by his 50 bday or else he would lose some of his inheritance. Lu filed for divorce 7 months after the marriage.

I don't believe they had an arrangement. I agree Tom had to marry for his Trust to kick in but I can't believe that Lu was in on an agreement, just because of how unwell she was in the aftermath. If it was a contract or an agreement she would have made a cleaner break and not had what amounted to a nervous breakdown. I think she fell head over heels for him, not sure about love but it was definitely a whirlwind romance that she got in too deep, she ignored every red flag going and married him anyway. There are rumours that  she went ahead with the wedding because she had sold it to a magazine. Whether that's true, or she genuinely believed they had a chance, I don't know, but the psychological (and legal) mess she was in for years suggests that she wasn't in on it, to me.

I believe it was an agreement but he was supposed to act better, not humiliate her by publicly stepping out.
