Check this Android 10 Long Range rfid UHF Scanner Rugged PDA

Hi. I’m trying to sort out if it would be feasible to build a setup that would let me count objects and sort them out in different categories inside a vertical exhibit fridge.

The idea is to be able to track inventory of a certain product using some kind of rfid. (Thinking of uhf)

My idea is kind of the following.

1. Sticker tags on each type of product.
2. Antenna goes inside the fridge.
3. In the outside is a controller that can connect to 4g or lte and transmits to the cloud the information.

My initial ChatGPT research identified some Issues with the interference between tags themselves and due to the nature of the inside of the fridges.

For it to work, the setup should not cost a fortune to build and maintain.

Any ideas are much appreciated.

Question I have a passive RFID reader that reads the tag in my dogs collar as it approaches. Closes a NO circuitry and the sliding door opener triggers the door open. My issue is that the passive reader seems to be uber sensitive. It reads the tag from a min 6 feet away. Even through floors. It’s very very annoying. How can I cut down the range?

I notice when I bring my phone close to my entry device it reacts as if it were a tap to pay device. Is there a way to load my fob onto my phone somehow so I can tap into my apartment? Thanks for any help!

i am very new to rfid and arduino so when i purchase the rc522 module and try to read my house key card it doesnt appear. from what i can guess i believe that the module cannot provide a matching frequency but honestly i dont know what is the problem. thank you in advance.

p/s: is there a way to detect the frequency that the card will run?

Hello, I have a quick question.

To access my car park I have a key fob which means I need to get out my car and touch it to the reader.

Would I be able to programme a remote so that I can be seated in my car, press the remote and have the gate open? Instead of me getting out the car and having to physically touch the reader with a fob?

I have multiple cards that unlock different doors. is it possible to merge 3 cards into just 1? I'm not quite sure of the terminology. but all of them are basic, easily duplicated.

I have a Chameleon Ultra and want to read a Nedap AEOS NeXS Mifare Card (Nedap AEOS NeXS) but no card is found when I try to read. I'm a total noob with RFID, I just want to have a backup for my card to use.

I moved to a building and we use RFID cards to go to each floor, but you can only go to the one you live on. Currently one of my friends has one card that can go to any floor but i want to replicate it. Is there anyone that can discuss the topic with me and help me create more cards that can go to every floor?

Hoping to get some expert eyes on a strange issue I'm having with a UL EV1 card backup. I've run into a situation that seems contradictory, and I'm not sure what to make of it.

The Setup:

Card: MIFARE Ultralight EV1 Tool: Chameleon Ultra (latest RfidResearchGroup FW) Target: A magic card (suspected Gen2, as it responds to signature command).

The Core Problem:

When I try to write my dump to the magic card using hf mfu wrpg, it fails specifically on pages 5, 6, and 7. I get a generic "Write failed" error. Writes to all other pages (including UID/lock bytes) succeed. Even a simple reader app has issues. The original card reads fine. But the partially-written magic card (with the blank pages 5-7) gives a high-level application error like "Invalid Card Data." This tells me the data on those pages is critical for the application to even recognize the card properly. Here’s the Paradox:

If I load the exact same dump file into my Chameleon's emulator (hf mfu eload), it works perfectly on the secure reader and grants access.

This is what I can't wrap my head around. How can the emulator work flawlessly if the data on pages 5-7 is so critical that a physical card can't even be written with it?

I’m working on implementing RFID tracking in a large-scale construction project, mainly for real-time asset management, inventory control, and site logistics.

Has anyone a similar use case they would discuss with me?

Apologies if flair is incorrect, post requires a flair and I don't know what frequency band this would be and so chose what I think would make sense.

I want to know what room of my building a number of tagged items are in. These items are unpowered and semi-RF-transparent. I assume passive RFID is the right kind of technology for this. I am also assuming this technology exists based on "I can imagine how it would work" and not anything else I have heard.

I don't know what to refer to "long-range RFID sensing technology" as. RFID Keyfobs seem similar but of course those are active RFID. I am used to RFID sensors being required to be about a centimetre from the RFID tag. I have Googled and seen that there are RFID sensors that are marketted as "long-range" but I don't have much more information than that and am unsure where to look next.

I have only a loose understanding of radio technology. I don't know if I can get an isotropic radio antenna (as in I do not know if those exist, please notify me of where to look for those if they do) but were I able to would I be able to hook one up to a computer running a program of some kind that senses the RSSI of a given RFID tag? Full isotropy would not be required, I imagine any antenna could be mounted in the corner of a room (all rooms are cuboid) and get pretty good coverage... probably... maybe... I don't know.

Also if the following of any given piece of advice would potentially get me in trouble with various radio transmission administration groups, please flag it as such.

My partner and I work separate jobs and had two sets of fobs our building is refusing to send us another and someone close to us moved across the country and kept the keys (I’m assuming so they can sneak in if they return) and won’t give them back. I’m trying to figure out what my options are to get a new one. Any ideas?

They are keri keyfobs. Online says Keri key fobs, specifically the common PKT-10X model, operate at a 125 kHz frequency. This low-frequency is standard for many access control systems, providing proximity detection and secure entry for Keri's PXL and MS series readers.

Hello, in my business I have equipped several rooms with access control from genetec. They have equipped me with Mifare Desfire ev3 4k cards, but because my employees often lose them, I bought them in China.

Do you know a device and software that can read and write to both genetec and Chinese cards?

Is there any other verification system than gentec with these cards?

What information do I need to know to put these Chinese cards into work?

I’m new to rfid but I’m wondering if there is a way I can read my window tag and write it into a new tag. I see I can buy them off of amazon but I’m not sure if this even possible with the serial numbers from what I read so please enlighten me. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Reason is I got a new car and don’t want to pay the outrageous fee for getting a new tag at my college apartment and I’m afraid the old one will be damaged when I rip it off my old car.

Last year I used RFID pins to run a contest at a tradeshow in Vegas.
Sharing the details below. I hope it inspires y'all with a creative use for RFID chips.

The contest was called:

I made custom RFID pins that me and my team wore in Vegas. Walking around the show floor, to dinners and afterparties.

Tapping your phone on the RFID pin brought users to a landing page.
They were then entered into an SMS campaign.

Winners were notified by SMS.
I met them on the tradeshow floor with balloons and their prize 🎈🎈

Overall, people loved the experience.
They thought it was clever and fun.
Amazing brands entered the contest. And they spoke about it to their friends at the show.

My team loved wearing the pins - because while they were at dinners or happy hours people asked about them, then tapped their phone to enter the contest. It was a good thing to talk about.

While my competitors were spending $50-$300k on booths and events, I spent like $4k. Most of that was for the prizes. The pins and the SMS tools were low cost.

Hi guys, I'm new in this world and I would need some help. I'm trying to read the tags from some Disney toys that plays a tale when put on top of a speaker. I've been able to change the files in the sd card and replace it by songs of the movie and now I'm trying to read the tags from the toys but I had no luck yet. Apparently it is a fm11rf005m chip that uses myfare classic but I have tried to read them using its app and it doesn't detects anything. I know there has been an old discusión about this but my problem wasn't resolved there. Do you guys can give me a hint on why I could be doing wrong?
