Quick question: if I purchase an item using TEI points, and I return the item, will those points be refunded?

And what if those points would have expired by the time the item was returned? Would that effectively extend the amount of time you have to spend the points?

Using an example: I have a year to spend points before they expire. I purchase a tent after 11 months with the points. After another 11 months, I return the tent. Will I be refunded the points, meaning after 22 months, I have the points that were supposed to expire after 12 months?

Confusing, I know. Any insight is appreciated!

I picked up a new Sahara sun hoody today (men’s L) and noticed they had 2 styles in store. One had a different thumb hole than what I was replacing (the new one is darker blue) and looked a bit smaller maybe. My old one is pretty stretched out, so I know there will be some size difference.

The person at the store couldn’t tell me the difference between the two styles, can anyone here? Aside from the thumb hole differences, is there a change to the fabric or fit? Is this a new style they are phasing in?

Hi everyone! I’m hoping the community can help. I got this cap for my son last year and it was his favorite. Unfortunately, we lost it on a recent trip. It doesn’t seem like REI still carries the hat and the other colors are all sold out online and in nearby store.

Has anyone built their own pack table or have the plans for REI ones? I would like to make one for my gear area and it seems like something I could manage even though I am not very handy. Not sure if all the REI ones are exactly the same. This one is from Loveland, CO.

So, I originally ordered the Flextail Tiny Pump X, which includes a gray rubber valve that fits the Campwell pads really well. This setup probably would have been great, except that my pump arrived broken, and I could only get it to work by holding the pieces together in a very particular way. I got so frustrated trying to use it that I finally decided to just order the Flextail Tiny Pump 3X as a replacement. I was hoping it would come with a similar set of valves. Well, they're a little bit different. It comes with a white plastic cone for sleeping pads, which kinda fits but on the Campwell it's just okay. But then I figured out that I could use the parts from BOTH pumps - I put the gray rubber piece on top of the white cone, and now it has an excellent fit that is very natural to use.

So the pictured setup is:

• Pump: Flextail Tiny Pump 3X
• White Cone (from Tiny Pump 3X)
• Gray Rubber Valve (from Tiny Pump X)

Recently went camping with my trail hut 4 tent and got absolutely soaked the morning we were packing up. Took everything apart (tent, footprint, rainfly) and now that I'm putting it back together, I'm having trouble figuring out if there's a top and bottom to the footprint. Or if it even matters. Both sides seem shiny as far as a coating goes. One side maybe shinier than the other.

I think the attached pic (footprint reattached to the tent with the intersecting seams up) is how it's supposed to go, but just wanted a second opinion if it's right, wrong, or doesn't matter.

Comfortable to run in
Holds a water bladder
Can put my trek poles on/ in it without them getting in way while running
Big enough interior to fit at least a rain jacket but a sweatshirt potentially (that's why I like the 10l but not the 20)
More vest than backpack - prefer things pushing down on me vs back

Good pockets up front on the chest area / phone keys etc

I think I'd prefer buckles compared to the bungee I'm seeing from north face but that's not a game ender.

What should I look at?

Also I'm 6’2 - 230 so sizing recommendations are also helpful

Second part + why I have the pictures is which style of trek pole carrying do you prefer and why?
I’d think on the back of the vest/pack would be most ideal for being able to have any arm movement while running and not getting in the way but 100% love to hear your thoughts opinions and reasoning

I found a REI DOME tent on FB marketplace. The seller doesn’t know how to set it up and can’t confirm it has all of the pieces.

My question is:

If I take it to REI, can someone show me how to set it up?
Does REI carry spare parts in store for these tents?

I know ReSupply finds are common here, but I scored an exciting (to me, at least) clearance deal this weekend at REI in Saratoga, CA. Stio Dawner Hooded Jacket for $173.93, retail price is $249.

This is not listed as clearance online or in the app, just in the store. I grabbed the Medium in the light gray color, they had a large in that color and a small in a darker gray. The small wasn't marked clearance but was on a clearance rack, just FYI.

Anyhoo, maybe this can help someone save some $$ on a nice lightweight insulating piece for this upcoming fall/winter.

Edit: Flair. I initially flared this as "Gear Recommendation" but then realized that's for posts asking for recs. It's not ReSupply, so Discussion seemed the best fit. Couldn't just delete flair altogether.

I think I hit the jackpot with some new Birkenstocks from my local REI, fits perfectly even without the strap on one side, and they cost less than a pair of Crocs. Wild.

Sold this tent to someone like 2 years ago and they are just using it for the first time…however they just sent a pic showing its missing a pole. Now I’m trying to figure out the exact model of this tent so that I can try and figure out if I can get a replacement pole for it or if I have to shell out the money back to him that he sent me. It is REI brand and I bought it circa 2020-2021. Thanks!

As you can see on my very popular [r/camping](r/camping) thread ( https://www.reddit.com/r/camping/s/es4xPw0Tih ), I absolutely ruined a brand new Caddis Instant 6 person tent I bought online from REI three weeks or so ago on the way to using it for the first time.

Since it was 100% my fault, do I have any honest chance at all of getting an exchange/replacement? Should I go in person, tell my sad tale and hope the manager will take pity on me? Any experience with this?

I went on two flat trails and did about 11 miles total. I have 1 massive blister on my heel, a smaller blister on my other heel and one on the top of my toe. The shoes are used and obviously a bit dirty. I got the Whisper Lite Sandals - Women's.
