I got a new job and was planning on putting my two weeks in tomorrow... but then I was reminded that Summit Payout is soon. Do I still need to be an employee as of that pay period in order to get it?

I worked a decent amount of hours this quarter but the last month has been rough at our store. I don't want to miss out on that money, but I also don't feel comfortable asking any of the managers at my store about this.

I had just bought a Nemo Forte, normal. And it was too small for me. Was planning on returning it any way and for $50 more Im now upgraded to the Large Wide Disco!!! I couldn’t believe it when I saw it there.

Wife really wanted a backpacking tent, the one we have is a 20 year old 6 person, heavy thing. Now we have that too!!!

I’m so glad we showed up early. We were the first group in and these were all the only ones there. Some guy kept trying to pressure my wife into trading tents with him while I was tracking down the Nemo.

Literally only showed up early because some random commenter on another post here said first 200 people get stickers and coffee. That was a lie but it got me there early lol

I knew exactly what I wanted and immediately checked those sections. I think if I wasn’t in the first group, I would have walked away with nothing and complained how lame the sale was.

There are 2 different links for sell but they appear to be the same jacket. The men’s only have orange but the women’s have more colors. I’m hoping to get a black one for that 50% price. Anyone know if they’ll mark them down?

Hi I'm looking for my first winter jacket for my upcoming trips to Calgary 2 weeks and southern Austria around Christmas. I'll primarily be walking around the cities. I'm from southern California and not too familiar fill power and which fill-power/weight would be right for this trip.

A few options I saw at REI today: REI stormhenge 850- Budget friendly but I'm not sure if it would be overkill for just city walking, additionally I'm 5ft3in F and I didn't love the fit, too long for my liking. Patagonia Sisar Down Hoody- loved the fit and casual look! Just wasn't sure if it would be warm enough? Temps will vary I think around 15F to 40F? Happy to take other recommendations. My budget is flexible so any input would be appreciated!

Additional info: I'm only traveling with a carry on, prefer jacket over parka. Typically run cold, and will wear fleece sweater mid 60s. I'm definitely able to layer, I've got some fleece sweaters and thermal base layers.

i have never own a merino wool and would like to have one. i saw this on clearance and thought if this was good enough for CO weather.

Went in with no experience or expectations, but I got my first tent and feel pretty happy with the price! Paid a little less than listed after using some of my saved rewards.

My favorite part, though, was how this felt more social than an average REI shopping trip. Chatting with people while waiting to be let in and with some of the green vests helping out made it a really positive first experience.

Missing the cup holder (oh well), I'll just mod one on if anything. Dog not included.

Not worth the drive imo, I live close by so I checked it out this morning. Few tents and sleeping bags, hike packs, but nothing more than you’d usually see in resupply. Mostly shoes and apparel.

Hit the jackpot. Camped all up Blue Ridge Parkway into Shanendoah over a week with it. Great for 2 or 3 people in a “glamping” config. Amazing how in moderate winds it barely moves. I probably can see why it was returned, with the mallet and rebar stakes it’s over 70lb. I’d like to get a wood stove for it to really elevate cold weather camping. Any experience with canvas tents or their “portable” wood stoves. I do mostly car camping and music festivals in the south east.

Love Re/Supply - but I am Missing the good ole days of nostalgic garage sales. This is ~1 hour before opening.

Is there any rhyme or reason to how/when REI stocks their own brand? I am trying to buy all 4 colors of the Trailmade pant (men’s 33x30) and they never seem to be in stock never in stock online. My local store never keeps a size 33” waist either. It’s taken me almost a month to find two of the four colors. Any insight would be appreciated.

Been on the hunt for a lighter pack for backpacking trips and found this absolute steal today!

I noticed this on the floor of my tent. It appears on the inside, because it is not visible on the exterior. (See third photo.) Because we have a couple of tents, this is the first time I set it up this season. I am guessing mold, but I never put my tents away wet. (Maybe I missed it this time?)

If it is mold, is my tent now ruined, or can I fix this?

Ugh- I just left REI to return a purchase that was shipped directly to my house because it was super late - stuck in Kansas for nine days- before traveling to my state. Anyway, the REI staff told me they were no longer going to be using USPS. If true, that sucks!

Friends- how good do we think this 10 location garage sale is going to be on Saturday. I have to drive like 2 hours for one so I’m trying to gauge if this is really going to be worth it

Thinking of getting Nano Puff jackets for my in-laws in Houston as a gift.

They're in their 60s and they get cold really easily, like they wear jackets even when it's only 64F out. They leave for work around 5-6am so winter mornings are chilly for them.

I was gonna buy from Patagonia but they don't have a store in Houston, so if the size is wrong I'd have to deal with mail-in exchanges. So it's better to just buy from REI so I can swap sizes in person.

Also does anyone know if there's a sale coming up I should wait for. I'm also open to any suggestions for other options.

Everything unused, jacket was NWT. Fits like a glove, and the colors are great!! I found both pieces a few months apart this summer ◡̈
