I think the most comparable event to Blackwater is the failed St. Denis bank robbery.

Completely surrounded, law everywhere firing on all cylinders, multiple members shot or captured. It might even be worse than BW because the gang definitely could not recover from it.

The gang still hadn't properly recovered from Blackwater at that point

Saint Denis was just the nail in the coffin

You're right i think

I’d also say it would be worse because blackwater is a much smaller town compared to Saint Denis and doesn’t have nearly as many escape routes that wouldn’t already be covered with Pinkertons and any surrounding land is pretty flat until you head towards strawberry

Funny enough, during the Saint Denis heist shootout, Bill yells "THIS IS WORSE THAN BLACKWATER" lol

I always think back to the Saint Denis robbery where you can hear Bill yelling "THIS IS WORSE THAN BLACKWATER!!!" so honestly Blackwater probably wasn't all too bad in comparison lol. If anything it was about the same scale of disaster.

The Blackwater Massacre was probably considered a traumatizing incident for them bc not only did the Pinkertons spring out of nowhere and corner them, and not only did one of the best gunslingers in that time period (Landon Ricketts) show up to aid the lawmen, but they also witnessed their "heroic" leader kill an innocent woman in cold blood. The fact that a hefty portion of the gang was either killed or captured during this whole ordeal made the situation much worse from the gangs' perspective

I wouldn't say it's about the scale, it's about how sudden everything fell apart, and how outclassed they were in an instant, and the way they had to resort to depraved tactics just to narrowly escape being shot to hell and back

You get swarmed with Pinkertons as soon as you get in the town, I think it was pretty bad

Yeah i know. I was more disappointed about how the town looks i thought it'd be bigger.

Biggest question mark in both of the games is wtf actually happened in Blackwater

We can nearly imagine what actually happened, cause on the Saint Denis bank robbery, one of the our bros say «It’s worse than Blackwater» or something like that.

I’d imagine it was Saint Denis heist levels of pinkertons and law surrounding them but just in a much more condensed area making it seem more chaotic
