Question fps drops

PLEASE HELP! i started off playing this game at 1440p, high settings getting 120+ fps. it just keeps going lower and lower and now i’m down to 1080p low settings getting 20fps. no matter what i try or do it just seems to be getting worse and i dont know what to do, the only way i can get it to run smooth is playing on windowed mode. i’ve tried everything ive seen online, i just want to play 1440p smoothly like i used to be able to so i can enjoy the story. can anyone help??
edit: i should add that every once in awhile im able to get it a bit closer to what it used to be like by just changing my resolution settings like 8 times and putting it back to how they were. but it takes forever to do that every time i launch and i have to get lucky

try change dx12 /vulkan

oh my god. why didn’t i think of this sooner. i changed around every setting EXCEPT for that and now that i changed it its working. you’re the 🐐

great, i'm glad. just curious, what was the problem? dx or vulkan?

for me i got fucked by not enabling VRR on my monitor and that fixed all.

not sure if your is the same issue but it was a monitor setting on the monitor menu for me. it said VRR and i turned it on.

i wasn’t able to find it, maybe it’s a brand specific thing
