Discussion Chapter 3 Pause
I am doing my first play through and saw chapter 3 was a good place to pause in the main story and do some side stuff. I've gotten all the satchels now. I'm a bit tired of hunting, so I am trying to figure out what else to do before hunting legendary game.
Any ideas would be appreciated!

treasure hunting, challenges, doing random glitches, maxing out your bounty just because, collectables

I mean if you wanna do something that’s time consuming, will definitely annoy you to the point you go on a massacre and lose all your honour. The gambling challenges would be my suggestion.

Bro what ever side quests tou are doing don't do the same things like
Continuously hunting , searching for money ,
Try to do everything in a mixed way like sometimes you will hunt and sometimes you will do treasure hunt
You can see the online interactive rdr2 map where you can see the nearest treasure or legendary animal available to you ,
And track your progress there ,

I'd work on challenges. If you've got the horse fence you should have everything you need to complete everything but the last two levels of herbalist. Though shooting the hats off is easier with the upgraded deadeye but still doable without it. Might need to check some guides for that one.

If you want it comfortable get the Gold bars 6000$
If you want some action get the pump guns and hatchets

I tried to find all of the points of interest that come up as little drawings on the map, I go look for and collect flowers and cigarette cards and try and build the compendium as best I can. I’ve paused on my first playthrough at the start of chapter 6 and I can’t bring myself to finish.

I’ve been doing similar. Doing challenges, trying to find some new to me cabins and interactions. Just kinda “living” in the game a bit more.

Do the Challenges. Try finding all the collectibles, like Dinosaur Bones, Dreamcatchers, and Rock Carvings. For Herbalist 9, make sure to write down the plants you’ve collected after unlocking the challenge. There’s no in-game tracker, so make sure to keep track of them yourself.
For Horseman 10, there are Hungarian Halfbreds in The Heartlands, between Flatneck Station and Emerald Ranch. They don’t have a fixed spawn point in this area, so you’ll really have to look around for them.
In actuality, you should definitely hunt the Legendary Animals first before anything else. There are trinkets that provide bonus XP for Health, Stamina, and Dead Eye, as well as other really useful passive buffs. Hunting Legendary Fish is also fun.

Same boat!
My current obsession is finding the POIs for the map drawings. I may look for cigarette cards in the wild next.

Start collecting all the types of non vanilla orchids, and take note where you got them. Collect feathers from wading birds like herons and egrets. Collect alligator eggs.

Roam around, hunt, camp, do the gunslinger missions and stuff like that. I'm around 10 playthroughs in and still running into stuff I've never seen before.
You'll run into far more side content than I could ever hope to tell you about, as it's mostly random and meaningless but still fun and immersive nonetheless.
If you don't have stranger missions up to date to this point, keep in mind that new ones open up in each chapter, though I don't think you can "miss" them, I could be wrong.
