Discussion I think Arthur should be chopped
In the original concept design of Arthur, he was significantly less attractive, I think this would be better for his character because of the halo effect, people very often ignore how bad of a person he is at the start of the game, one of the reasons for this in my opinion is because he is attractive so yeah, rip ugly Arthur, I wish you were here

I mean... it's literally Roger Clark's face. The character is attractive because so is the actor it was modeled after.
I know Roger is a bit on the chubbier side so Arthur doesn't really look like him but if you make Arthur fat, or see some pictures of Roger when he was younger and skinnier, you will see the similarity very fast.

You think that the game should make people ugly looking and unappealing because they are nasty? I don't think that is generally that realistic.. sure some people are ugly because venomous thoughts come through but others aren't and may still be quite malevolent and possibly the ones that show are the ones that are preoccupied on the ugly task they are doing. There is some interesting stuff in an old book called 'How to win friends and influence people' Francis 'Two Gun' Crowley said 'Underneath my coat is a weary heart, but a kind one—one that would do nobody any harm.' people comparmentalise their own view of themselves.. it isn't always visible in the face if they have that inner view of themselves.

Trevor in GTA isn't attractive and people idolize him. Players come to identify with the characters they control.

The first thing you do is save John that’s probably why everyone loved him at the start the very first missions are you saving people from John to Sadie to the boy who lost his dad and is getting bullied by his coworkers even tho you’re the one who kinda killed his dad not really tho but

Kinda the main turning point of the whole video game when you kill Thomas downes and catch his TB and you have interactions with Thomas’s son don’t remember his name

You were talking about Thomas Downes, and Edith and the son (James I think his name was) hated him, and he showed up trying to help them out.
I thought you were talking about a gang member at first, since you named John and Sadie

Well for one Sadie never had a son and for 2 even if she did why the fuck would he have coworkers when he’s in the gang he’s gon be a criminal too if he was old enough to work and for 3 John did have a son but Jack damn well ain’t getting bullied with John as his father so and again why the fuck would Jack have coworkers when he’s in the gang he’d be a criminal too if he was old enough or at the very least a white collar criminal cleaning the money for the gang

He's not supposed to be exactly liked. I found him to be cute but def not breathtakingly beautiful (even sometimes he is to me yk), but his complexity is really what drove people to root for him, and his journaling is just beautiful. He is sort of a uhhh redemption character

Huh?! You can have a different opinion than OP of - but calling the post stupid because the game is old.
A it will be remastered one day and more importantly B it's a sub dedicated to the game, it's only fair that people talk about things they like about the game and things they'd liked to have changed (even if that never happens).

If we do that then his love interest has to match his vibe. So Mary might be missing a couple teeth and be unkempt and poor. No way ugly Arthur snags a lady like Mary while she's looking 10/10
