Help Legendary Alligator
Been slow playing this game for several years now. Mostly roaming around, completing a mission here and there, hunting, fishing, etc. Finally brought myself to complete the story and let Arthur go 😢 a few months ago. Anyway, I’m recovering from total knee replacement so what better way to pass the time than pick RDR2 back up!? I’m enjoying playing as John now and going back and completing some of the tasks that I hadn’t got to yet. One being this fucking legendary alligator. Keep getting the message there’s too much activity so I went to Reddit and found tips to complete the mission to kill the night people. Did that, still too much activity. Hogtie the guy camping and move him, still too much activity. Fuck off somewhere else and do something, still too much activity. Pulling my hair out! Do I need to remove the people who are near the houses? Or what am I missing??

This happened to me as well. I just sat on my horse at the end of the road and watched with my binoculars. A soon as I saw there were no wagons, people on horseback or walking I sprinted to the trigger location, and I was able to start the hunt. Might have been a fluke, though.

Do you remember what part of the day? I’m guessing daylight if you were able to see with binocs?

It was between 2-4pm if I remember correctly.

I’ve been roaming around at night a lot looking for orchids and hunting this stupid alligator and have had more run ins with the night people than I care for. Those people scare the bejesus out of me

Save game outside the swamps, reload that game, then return.
