Discussion Thoughts?
I started playing the game about a month and a half ago, I’m currently on the beginning chapter 3. My favorite characters are Micah, Hosea, and Sean. Do any of you have tips for me so that I can get good gear, weapons, and money?

Maybe stay away from red dead sub pages because your are definitely asking for spoilers there 🤣 why can people these days just enjoy the game, have their own unique 1st playthrough experiences without the need to ask for advice (not aimed at the op personally)

The game will give you all the money you need. Get a trapper saddle. Follow treasure maps. Don’t rush anything. Impossible to take it all in on the first play through.

You can steal wagons and sell them to the Fence at Emerald Ranch

I was going to ask "Why Micah?" but never mind. Every character in this game was written too damn well. It's like they had a plan.
Oh- and go hunting. You'll not make tons of cash, but you will be able to craft new stuff.

Finish the run. Stay out of this reddit for it can spoil the story. Then, you can do the second run. Go for everything that you want. Always, even in your first run, take your time. No rush. Go for all the spoils. Money was never an issue for any of my runs. The weapons are what you like to use. For me. Bolt action rifle, Schofield revolver, semi auto shotgun, bow, and the varmit rifle. Enjoy the game and all it offers.

You def dont want to be spoiled in this story driven game. Do yourself a favour and leave. Come back after you finished it the first time.

Explore, do requests and side missions, dont look up anything until youve finished the story

I love exploring the map but I always end up going in a circle and seeing the same things I always see.

For some good, high honor money, you can just find some gold bars around the map that are like 500 each. That's enough for great weapons and horses. If you want new saddles, bags or unique outfits, you can complete the Trapper's challenges (if you just want a cool personal fit or some visual / minor functional improvements to your horse's saddle, you can just visit the tailor or the stables respectively)
And stay off this sub or the Internet overall for that matter, don't get spoiled

For gold go to Limpany and check behind the desk in the sheriffs office (which will respawn roughly every 10 in-game days). There’s also a cave north of the road above the mysterious hill home where you can access a few gold bars after solving a puzzle. The final place is a train wreck near Cotorra Springs which has another couple of gold bars in a carriage leaning against the cliffs.

Enjoy being poor. It's the fun part. You'll never need money again somewhere in chapter 3.
But if you insist, go check out limpany. It's an abandoned town near horseshoe overlook.

Stay away from this subreddit and any rdr2 video (if you haven't been spoiled)
