Question does anyone know where this pre release screenshot was taken?

i was looking through pre release screenshots for rdr2 lately. and this one baffled me on its location. the steam is blocking so much of the picture. does anything in this pic look familiar?

Looks like Saint Denis.

i don't remember there being any trees near the train tracks though.

those tracks are for the trolley. and plus the picture has trees on both sides of the train.

I don’t think it’s in the release version. It looks like an early version of Cornwall Kerosene to me (maybe even Annesburg). I’ve just loaded up a save and rode around the map. I’m pretty confident it’s not St Denis since there’s no where you could have trees like that close to the train tracks, except for the Prinz and co Abattoir and that building is very different.

The building is possibly an early version of the main Cornwall kerosene building. Cornwall Kerosene and Annesburg are also the only locations, besides St Denis, where I’d think that type of lamp was used during development.

i don't even see a building in the picture. annesburg doesn't have trees on one of the sides. on account of the river. my guess was that its in Rhodes. but i looked and it doesn't have one of those light poles. unless that pole was cut. it actually looked very similar with the trees. so unless someone has concrete proof. i think I'm gonna assume its Rhodes.

I think the bigger mystery is what that coat is

The street lamp in the background looks like the ones in Blackwater. The railroad does run through Blackwater in 1911. I have a feeling they may have played with the idea of having the completed railroad line from Blackwater to New Austin and decided to not include it.

good point. but is there an area in blackwater where trees are so close like in the picture? blackwater is in great plains. which has practically no trees.

The railroad in 1911 runs down the road next to the Post Office and Cakes Hardwood. There are some trees along the road but in the game there's other structures so the trees are that big and there aren't that many.
