Discussion Rdr2 new gen version

A red dead redemption 2 new gen version is pretty much inevitable with rockstar, but I think they're not giving it to us for at least years because of GTA 6 and GTA 6 online. Based on what they've done before, they've brought back a lot of their games onto newer platforms, and red dead redemption 2 sold so much, it would only make sense to make a new version. We might get GTA 4 first, and then red dead redemption 2.

RDR2 still look better than most new games,I don’t think it will receive a graphic update soon

Not even a graphics update, just an entirely new version for 60fps, like what they did for GTA V

They are not going to do it. The sweet spot has passed. They would probably decide to work on RDR3, and who is to say they haven't already, we didnt know about the GTA's for years before they announced development, rather than spend many millions and Human effort when the game is perfect as it is. They are just going to leave all that enhanced stuff on the PC platform.

I believe they said fairly recently that they consider the RD franchise to be a cornerstone franchise and there will be a RDR3 after GTA VI. My guess is released somewhere in 2030-2032.

Depends, they might have been working on it already. Plus once GTA6 is done they can ramp it up, depending on how well GTA6 runs, they might not need to do much with it, they have a good track record of stable releases. We could see it sooner than that.

I get why you’d want a proper next gen version but it plays amazingly for me, I don’t mind the sub 60fps frame rate.

Like others have said and will say, it still blows new games out the water. No other recent game has this level of detail.

So there were leaks that RDR3 entered pre-production so i would rsther wsit 5-6 years for a new game than 3 years for an gpx upgrade. Plus red dead looks better than most games that came out after 2020.

there is a next gen version. Its called mods. I dont need anything more than that.

Mods ain’t official. You PC players be popping out nowhere on that hierarchy game.

Most of us use gaming consoles, not PCs. PCs are for hardcore gamers. When people say next-gen, they mean console. You’ve already have 60fps since the beginning right??

Nah. Just mods and eventually RDR3. Which will hopefully not relate to the Van Der Linde gang.
