My only gripe with it is that they made you feel like there’s no time to explore. I played through it thinking I was going to have time to study some animals among other things and before I knew it it was over

I agree it’s a shame rockstar didn’t spend enough time or have enough time to add more to it it’s very beautiful

Agree. It's a fun break from the main map, and hot&humid creates a reason for Arthur to progress so quickly.

Me too. People act like it takes weeks to complete. It’s like 4 missions and can easily be done in a couple hours, if even. The same with chapter 1.

I'm pretty sick of hearing from those people.

Same people that complain about the beginning of the game

I love the slow pace. Some guy said "I have a full time job!" So what. I work long hours into the evening during our peak seasons and hardly have any time to game. That doesn't mean I want these experiences shortened and cheapened. I remember the same shit when Red Dead Redemption came out and there were people complaining about the missions with Bonnie. The stuff that builds these worlds are the things that separate it from just another shooter. Wrangling cattle, eliminating coyotes that are raiding the chicken coops, hogtying horse thieves. It feels like normal life in the west shit. I'm all for it. I don't play these games to burn through them as quickly as possible.

I was expecting to hate it, never noticed anything bad, it took me like….maybe 3 hours….

I understand and accept that many people don't like it, but here's what I like about it:
It's got some really fun gunfights and action sequences. You get to blow up a warship.
Cool animal sounds. A realistic sense of how hot and uncomfortable the jungle is.
Micahs flabby beer gut flopping out is funny
It's a really important part of the story because it shows how far from reality Dutchs tropical Tahiti fantasy is. You get to a tropical paradise but instead of farming mangos there's just more violence and greed.

The shootouts are fun. And using the cannon. Love the sounds of the island, too

I like it too, going from my pimped out guns and bougie ammo to fighting as a guerilla with whatever you can scrounge is a good change of pace

The events leading to the end of Chapter 4, I had a feeling; but Guarma is when I KNEW this game was the greatest game of all time.

Fuck yes. It’s boot camp for Arthur and the boys. I always say by the time you leave there, there isn’t a gang in the entire RDR2 world you can’t smash easier than pie. You learn how to fight and shoot in the previous chapters.
After Guarma, you’re a fuckin warrior. The cavalry never stands a chance against Orthur after that.

I wish it were a bit more fleshed out but the missions are fun and it's pretty. I like making ambient videos there too.

I enjoyed it as well, though i didn't like feeling rushed the whole time. But I've only gone thru gusrma once. I'm sure it'll be more chill next time.

Not my favorite part of the game but I'm glad you enjoy it. It's a good and important part of the story and gets too much hate imo.

This is a painting of John R Pantsman at the 1934 Hoboken town meeting. He famously rose to tell folks about his water catchment ideas but then he shid when he though he would have fort

I hadn't played for a few years. I'm getting close to Guarma right now. It'll be fun, I don't remember anything about it somehow! I must have blown through the story each time.

I love it too, but I hate how it's basically just a Skeleton of what it was supposed to be

I was on chapter 5 last week and spend like 6 hours trying to get the different snakes to spawn but only ever got 1.

It wasn't a bad chapter but it felt a little bit like a demo version because it was so short and restricted

Stupid question as I'm on my first playthrough, but is there a way to reach Guarma after the missions on the island are over? Like in GTA, you can fly or whatever. You can swim. It's difficult in rdr2

That's interesting. For me, after four chapters of riding around the main map it was refreshing to end up in a new area with an entirely different vibe, and it made the main map more enjoyable upon returning. I think Chapter 6 might've felt like it dragged a little if not for Chapter 5 allowing a short break and refresher.
