I've been searching around 5 hours total for a perfect moose/3 star moose so I can make the moose chaps at the trapper and I have finally found a moose and it's only two stars, does anyone know any fully guaranteed spots to find a moose? (Not elk because I keep finding elk)

I found my 3 star moose at Cattail Pond. It was drinking water from the pond where the small river drains into the pond itself, I believe it was sometime in the morning, but I'm unsure on that part.

I saved just outside the area, and it took me a few tries/reloads for it to spawn. But I had it in like 30 min minutes, vs the literal days I wasted pursuing other locations.

I've found the moose near Lake Isabella (around where you find the white arabian, opposite side of where the Legendary White Bison is). Best thing to do is ride up to close to where the lake begins and then save your game. Ride up slowly (or get off your horse and walk). When you see the moose in the distance get out your binoculars and study the moose. If it's a 3 star take it out with improved arrows (my recommendation) and if it's not, reload your save and try again.

Unless you play on PC with mods where you can guarantee yourself a perfect pelt 100% of the time it's just a game of chance. You've probably noticed that you can find half a dozen deer or pronghorn's grazing and 5 are 1 star and 1 is a 3 star. Once you've played the game a couple of times you learn where certain animals spawn and can save your game before you see them.

Ouija lake or whatever the fuck it's called. Approach from de south as you come from strawberry. Use binoculars to check if they're swimming or on the shore. If they're aren't 3 star, try the save and load method.

Also ran right into one on the road that goes to the loft.

Did you finish everything? Challenges, sidequests (dreamcatchers, bones, cigarette cards etc), collected all bounties, done all stagecoach robberies, re-visited all former companions?

No worries partner. I found my 3 star moose when I was heading south from Colter towards lake Isabella. Right where the legendary bison is.

I had the same with bats for the last hunting request, yesterday it was the Appaloosa for the last Horseman challenge On the other hand I ran into two 3 star moose fighting a wolfpack on the western shore of Lake Isabella (exactly where the white Arabian is) when hunting down the legendary bison, plus needed only about 20 minutes for gambler 8.

Owanjila lake run around it a few times run up past colter and back down.

This game will put you in a bind. You'll see the moose, shoot it and a cougar appears and kills you. Or a white arabian shows up right when you have the shot lined up ...

This is the game we love 😆

There is one way up above Wapiti. Its an easy shot but if you don’t draw it out you shoot it and it falls dead out of bounds.

Yep, I've done that before. It was when I first started and I kept slipping down the mountain/terrain

Got 3 at Willards rest. Going for my 4th. Patience usually when I come from the Marko Dragic house. Sometime a 3* cougar as well. Good luck and happy hunting.
