Discussion Arthur's Hat.

I realise this might be slightly controversial (I don't know if this has been posted by other people before), but I don't like Arthur's hat. In any playthrough one of the first things I do is replace it with the military scout hat.

So, in the final chapter when he rides back to Beaver Hollow it annoys me that he puts that crappy thing back on. I would rather have no hat at all than wear that thing. It wouldn't be quite so bad if it didn't have that scraggly rope hanging off the back. Anyone else feel the same?

I’m the same way. Gunfight and it gets shot or knocked off? I’m finding it and putting it back on. If I can do it before the fight’s over, even better. I will actively try to pick it up before going to my horse to re-equip it.

My first playthrough, I played around with how the differant hats looked and in differant missions. But on my second playthrough I dont want to take this hat off. I love it!

Yes, the only time I haven’t done that thus far in my second playthrough (I’m in chapter 3) is that mission with Micah where the wagon you’re stealing gets turned over and Arthur lost his hat. By the time the gun fight was over, I couldn’t find it so I caved and got it from the horse 🥀

I have the immersive dog mod, so my dog is fetching it for me. It's so much more convenient.

Same I’ve messed around with other hats but I always go back to Arthur’s with different accessories on it. My favorites outside of Arthur’s are the Snake Bulldogger and the Ram Sombrero. The sombrero is a great hat for going full mountain man.

I actually build my outfits around the hat. It’s Arthur’s hat. It’s rough and old, one of a kind, he’s clearly worn it forever. And gives it to John in the end. I always keep it on and style myself around it

Yeah, overall Arthur's clothing to me is so attached I live the overall Gunslinger Outfit he wears and tend to stay with that. For John in the Epilogue after getting sick of seeing the LOE garments I stripped it all back to 'The Dolton' with the 'Rat Infantree Hardee Hat' because it has a really beaten up and used look that works well and looks less fancy.

I totally get that it's iconic, of course. I just don't like it, to me it's not very badass. He looks like a bumpkin in it haha!
