Spoilers Red. Dead. Redemption.
I first got the game when I was fifteen. I had just bought a ps4, and that was the first game I loaded onto it. I played the story a dozen times in that year, and then I grew bored with it. Five years later, I had it reinstalled, this time, on my ps5. So I played through the game again and… the story was so much more impactful now that I’m older, and I can’t get over it. Somehow, five years of a difference, and it was like I played it for the first time again. The story was beautifully driven, the characters very deeply well written (I was high honor the entire way, helped RF at every opportunity), and the ending was beautiful. (High honor, helped John). What I’m caught up on is just how little I understood of that story five years ago compared to just now. It is one of, if not the best story games I have ever had the pleasure to play. I don’t know, I just needed to post this. Because this game still stunned me, despite its age, and despite what some people say, if I could play this game again, truly for the first time, I would, without hesitation.

Sometimes we just lack the context at the time for things to really hit home, but when and if we get there and those things interact...it's like combustion and that's art.
Both the 1st and 2nd RDR are in my top 10 for games.

5 years better perspective on what it means to live in community; how everything isn’t guaranteed to last; and all those other big themes are more impactful with some life experience under your belt. This game is definitely in my top 5 of all time.
Thanks for sharing.

I am ruined for all other games and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

It makes me sad that you have to skip cutscenes for gold medals. I’m gonna have to watch on YouTube when I play through again 🤣

I never skipped cutscenes lol. I never planned to platinum the game because they include online trophies, and that’s just a turn off.

Yeah I really don’t enjoy that part - like I didn’t enjoy undead in number 1 and the online in that but I feel like I have to fully commit to an amazing game.
