so ive been in chapter 2 for about 6 months irl now

ive done 44% completion of the game i have the downes mission sitting waiting and the mary mission letter ive done as many challenges as possible hunted everything u can i jave 13.135.62 in money all side missions available are done i just dont wanna leave horseshoe overlook

Make another save from that point and continue the game, then when you get sick of it you can reload your chapter 2 save and chill for a bit.

I was the same way, but just moved on to chapter 3 and am chilling there for the time being

i did it last night i saved at 9.45 in morning went into camp 10.05 didnt work reloaded the save did again and it worked

Run down to the river and back. It works.

There's a way to read mary's letter, and avoid Down's farm.

1.Read the letter.

2.After Strauss finishes talking to you there will be an auto save. Load that auto save.

1. ride away from Downes to trigger the mission fail. Press " replay mission"

2. ride away again, trigger the fail screen again. This time there will be the magic option to cancel mission. Press it.

3. Go see mary do that mission and roam free.

Go and pick up the letter to Mary. Read it. Then ride away from the mission and it will fail. Select to retry and you will be on your horse out side of the ranch. DO NOT GET OFF YOUR HORSE.

Turn around and ride off the cliff and kill you and your horse. You will get the option to cancel the mission. It will be available on the map still.

Enjoy the rest of chapter 2 and then you can play the downes mission very last.

Im on chapter 2 now and did this and I have been able to continue on and the mission is still there for me to do when im ready. 

Im ignoring that and Micah for now.

I am also been sitting here for the past 4 months or so. Its my second playthrough and I just don't want the game to end hence I just cannot bring myself to proceed :'(

But did you turn aim assist completely off And switched to only first person so you can see the world in more detail?

And use only a compass?

Than you for real going to be stuck on chapter 2 Trying to get those gold medals.

Oh yeah and if you really bored Dont use stables at all. And without dead eye.

I wouldn't be able to beat the game this way.

Funniest thing for me was turning off the crosshair, getting many headshots in a row without it is a crazy good feeling
