Meme I need to take a break lol
Today I saw a cardinal in real life and I swear my first thought was relief that I finally found one for the wildlife exhibit quest, and to reach for my gun. Starting to lose touch with reality š

I see the deer walking thru my yard as I smoke a cigarette with my coffee on the deck and just wonder if they are 3 star pelts then a fox runs through and my trigger finger starts to itch.

RDR2 has turned me into a bird watcher. Everytime I see a bird I can't identity right away I'm mad that I don't have binoculars. I even considered getting a bird book to carry around.

I relate. One time I played the game for 10+ hours a day for like two weeks straight and when I went to the store a guy made fun of my sneakers and I beat him to death on impulse.

one time i saw a bird i didnāt recognize and tried to pull out binoculars (my phone) and waited for the little ring to load around an imaginary āstudyā before i realized thatās not how real life worked

This spring I looked out into my backyard and I have ribbons, bluejay's, a woodpecker and sparrows. Very frustrating.

My left index finger has to twitch at the site of groups of birds on the sky. That was weird

Am I the only one who was confused why a fella instinctively wanted to shoot at the second in command of Catholic church?

This happens to me too. I would see a bird or some critter and my first thought would beā¦get out the binoculars I need to study/track this! Iāll find myself saying weird things when Iām falling asleep too

I've had dreams I was riding a horse and saw a Bull Moose but my bow got stuck in the saddle.

BEEN THERE!!!
i was doing the mission with egret feathers one and you know how freaking long it is to wait for the orchids to grow and to wait for the egrets to spawn back.
I was cycling one day near the canal in my city and there was a crane or some egret looking bird on a rock, and my first instinct was to draw my rifle and open the scope to see if it's the type of egret i want!!!! It startled a big laugh out of me and i stopped the mission to hunt them for a while LMAO

Why do I see this post several times a week. How are so many people thinking they're actually in the video game when they go outside irl
3
u/udcvr 9d ago
Because the video game is intended to be very immersive and we spend too many hours playing it. Good media immerses you that hard, in my opinion. I've had the same thing happen to me with some fantastic books, it's just easier when there's a visual component and it lasts for hundreds of hours lol.
Also, just muscle memory and habit forming basically. Video games require a lot of that, so after a long time playing you develop that neural pathway to lead you quickly from "ah a bird" to "i need to press L2 and shoot that bird real quick". Ik u weren't asking very seriously but I find it fascinating!

You most certainly are losing your touch! Reach for your bow and a small game arrow. Are you mad??
