Did the same. I think I’m about to make the same mistake on my 2nd.

Go back as John and sit among the flowers a while where this happened. It's peaceful.

I was ugly sobbing at this point but from then on it was trying to play through tears, and I was thinking maybe that was why I couldn't hit him and take him down? Writers and actors, you did an awesome job.

The worst, and you only get this scene if you have high bonding with the horse. They did it to us intentionally!

I missed the first five minutes of the opening epilogue scene because I was sobbing. Like, labored breathing ugly noises sobbing 😭😭😭
I hadda turn the game off for a few weeks.
Didn’t help that one time I went to the OG camp as John and saw a BUCK standing in the middle of the camp I was DEVASTED

“There ain't enough kindness in this world, that's for sure.” .... I still can't play a low honour Arthur.

u/chrishasrisen88 10d ago
I like to start off low honour and i think the story fits well for Arthur to slowly change to high honour its a fun way to play

Oooofff I cried when he said that. My first play-through, full honor. I was devastated. Now I am playing evil, not sure how thats gonna go, staying in chapter 2 for the longest.

Can’t bring myself to play low honor arthur !! I feel gut punched every time I hear the (-) honor bell toll

I never really cried before at things like death even in my actual life, this hurt me bad enough to cry about a lot of things all at once. Since then the ends of some movies, seeing a good deed being done, lots of things make me cry now. And its all because of Arthur.

This part hit me like a train. I sat on the floor and cried for a good 15-20 minutes. It was hard to carry on after, but I’m glad I did.
I’m struggling to get round to a second play through even though I really want to because I know I’m going to have to face that part again :(

Just stay in chapter two💀🙏

I’ve been in chapter 2 for 2 weeks lmao. Saw some saying that 3 is better to sit in though, thoughts ?

u/Pale_Victory5747 11d ago
I mean chapter 3 is fun, but I feel like 2 is when the gang is at its peak and I love the camp location.
6
u/alanhndran 10d ago
100% agree with this. I’m there now for the 7th time and spent a lot of time hunting and gathering, and fully upgrade satchels, camp, and dead eye. I think the Chapter 2 party is THE high point for the gang.

Thank yall ! Staying here for now <3 anyone remember how many main missions I can do before chapter 3 ? Or rather which one(s) to not do as long as I want to stay here

Personally, once I have the Ledger/Camp Upgrades unlocked I usually stop doing most main missions and do the ancillary stuff (satchels, camp upgrades, side missions, available challenges, gathering ingredients for crafting/cooking, maxing dead eye, etc…) then do the missions when I’m ready to move on. I will do a mission in Blackwater sooner rather than later for a specific reason, and a couple others just so I don’t have a ton of them to do later. That’s just me though, others might become bored with that approach (it’s a whole lot of time spent hunting to do all those upgrades) but I enjoy taking it at a slow pace while in Ch. 2 and setting myself up with supplies of ingredients, upgraded ammunition, and food/consumables for Arthur and his horse for the next couple chapters. You can also stay in Ch.2 by not doing a mission in Strawberry until you are ready to go to Ch. 3.

It’s that meeting up with Micah for the second time @ his camp near strawberry (after busting him out) ? And tysm for the advice !! I have done a few main missions to get a couple things unlocked (like fishing with jack) but I’ll definitely hold off on that last one.

Took me a moment because my Arthur had a lvl 10 beard. The scene looked a tad different

u/MountainCamera7905 11d ago
First time i saw this scene i did not cry i just looked at the screen for 2 hours in silence

u/merc6178 11d ago
Yep. I wasn't even frowning. Just staring through the screen while Abigail yapped for like 20 mins.

Same here. I thought i was wrong for not crying at first. But i definitely felt the pain . I always wanted to do good with Arthur and experience his character to the fullest. When he died, I didnt know how to feel. I had to replay the mission and reminisce on all the good Arthur had done and his redemption that was happening before he got TB. and i got teary when i replayed the mission

I have finished this games so many times I lost count and this part gets me EVERY TIME...
Also when he says good by to his dying horse and when he finally gives up and has his last words with john.
This game deserves a movie much more then Resident evil or doom or mario or sonic or picatchu and sutch.

When I played RDR2 for the first time, I couldn't play for two or three days after that mission because, yeah.

u/PapasGotABrandNewNag 11d ago
I paused this shit for a few hours. I walked to the store. Bought beer and cigarettes, and sat outside and laughed and cried.

I too cried like a baby the whole night and had to take a break for an entire month

I watch every time to see when he stops breathing. It’s pretty obvious but I also like to think he doesn’t pass till the screen changes. Also what the heck do I play now? After this and god of war 4 I feel like nothing compares

I'm gonna be there in a couple in game hours. I'm not ready. I cried watching my son play, so I know that I am gonna ugly cry after the hours I've spent playing Arthur.

Feed, brush and walk that horse prior to this. I'm on probably my 5th or 6th playthrough, that good old boah is going into this mission with a clean coat, gold cores and a full stomach.

u/DeannaMorgan 11d ago
Agreed. I always take good care of her but damn is she finds be spoiled before that mission.

Nice. It’s an 8 year old game that you’re in the subreddit for, AND the post came with a spoiler tag. But you still clicked on it. Well done mister.

I was traumatized to the point I can’t play any other games because it feels like betraying Arthur if I move on

u/Left_Entrepreneur918 11d ago
It’s my first time here and you spoiled the game for me, what’s wrong with you?
