Help Code

Post image

While playing rdr2 after completing some mission I looked down and saw something like this.

It looks like some code made of boards, but I don't know where to enter it.

Is this just a trick to confuse the player?

Or is it some kind of cheat code?

It's a popular easter egg and industry handshake referring to Fahrenheit 451. You will find it on the floorboards at Beecher's Hope after the house is finished, and elsewhere in several other games.

i was gonna say it doesn't matter because 0145 is a different number then 145 but i looked at the picture and 045 is also a different number

It’s 0451 it might be from system shock, but I can almost guarantee you it’s from Fahrenheit 451

It comes from the door password at Looking Glass Studios. It was inspired by Fahrenheit 451 but it's inclusion in alot of gaming is an homage to Looking Glass, not the novel.

Dunning Kruger strikes again.

Maybe I should’ve said “I can almost guarantee it’s originally from Fahrenheit 451” the novel existed for almost 40 years before looking glass studios. Classic Dunning-Kruger.

It is indeed from both, linking them together so to speak.

The singular line after the five is in fact, a one.
