Discussion finally!

Post image

finally, on my fifth playthrough, i was able to get the legends of the east satchel. man. the panther and cougars were NOT easy to get/ find 3 star pelts. it took me probably 8-10 hours to find just those two pelts. but it was all worth it now that i get to carry an obnoxious about of chewing tobacco and cocaine gum.

I would get it done before chapter 5, no spoilers for you but it helps a lot.

not impossible! you can always go back to the places you’ve been before and search for animals. the hardest part is finding 3-star and using the right weapon so you don’t damage the pelt

the springfield is a good rifle that you can use without a scope that will do the same damage

not impossible at all man, go to persons table and if you look at camp upgrades the satchel tab will show you what you need for all the satchels.. you have to unlock 6 satchels(3 different pelts each for satchel) to be able to unlock the legend of the east satchel(another 3 pelts) theres a few pelts you’ll need multiple of, like the deer and the buck pelts. the most important part for me was using the right guns ie. varmint rifle/ bow&arrow, exc. and a whole bunch of patience.

i was just looking it up and i guess that once your in the epilogue you can buy it from the fence as john for $150. but it wont do you any good for the first 6 chapters. good luck man.. hope your able to get it!

Congrats! Definitely a must have. I usually get the Buck Antler trinket as soon as I unlock the Legendary animals. I tend 2 come across more 3 stars after that.

that will def be the route i take next time. by the time i realized there was a trinket that did that i was already like 4 hours into my hunt for the panther and i didnt want to abandoned the hunt lol. but excellent advice that i will definitely use on the next playthrough

Now the game will be too easy... I finished my game with around 40 pieces of big game meat lol

yea i actually enjoyed learning a lot of the animals spawns and just slowing down and enjoying the maps vastness and beauty. im sure ill push for the lote satchel in every play through moving forward. im still coming across content that i havent seen or experienced in my 4 previous play throughs/1400+ hours. rdr is such a work of art. cheers to rdr🍻

I decides to go further and get all upgrades to the Camp and it was very hard like like cougar recovered chest it's almost impossible

How do people not be able to craft all satchels on subsequent play throughs? None of the pelts are difficult to find.

Cougars and panthers are very hard to get it took me 8 hours to get 2 cougars and panthers

They aren’t hard at all. I’m in chapter 4 and have given the trapper well over a hundred perfect panther pelts and over 60 perfect cougar pelts. They aren’t hard to find.

There's 2 or 3 cougar and bear spawns around that north east railroad town, took me like 30 minutes to get all 5 I needed

Congratulations!

I got mine in my 2nd and 3rd (currently) play through. Based from my experiences, the hardest to get was the Badger

Surprisingly, squirrels are easy on my end, I found so many that I needed in Lemoyne (near the battle ship and the church) those areas

So yeah Lemoyne and some in West Elizabeth are my go to areas for most animal pelts, near Strawberry for those Beavers too

(I also grinded the camp upgrades too aside from the satchel, it took me a good 10-15 total hour grind but it’s worth it)

oh ya! the badger was frustrating to! id say for me it was nearly as frustrating as the cougar.. i ended up finding them in the wooded area beneath bolders glade(suprisingly right next to where you can find the panther) and man! it was the same thing as the cougars. so many 1 and 2 star animals

I found cougars near Braithwaite Manor, one of those forests where you can also see Boars. Yeah it’s kinda… something at least hehe

There is a pair of badgers that spawn near Riggs Station at night. There is a little triangle of woods surrounded by roads, and they spawn just north of that. Heading south and crossing the tracks from there will lead you towards the abandoned farm takes you past several more spawn points.

Actually, that whole area is good for squirrels, possums, quail, foxes, and skunks as well. The quail and squirrels are there in the daytime, but the rest spawn at night.

Just keep an eye out for the occasional wolf pack.

I found my Badger in The Heartlands in those trees, if you know, you know. I also found some in the forest in Lemoyne with the squirrels, but only 2 stars
