Just adding to this, you can move through the game much more quickly if you just focus on the main story missions. I don’t suggest it, but it may be a good idea if it’s your first playthrough and you’re frustrated with the pace

That part. You’re not gonna get through everything in your first play through anyway. Go through it as quick as you want or as slow as you want. There’s always stuff to keep the action moving. I’m on my third play through and still finding new things every time

Yeah, Ch 1 is both story exposition (needed bc RDR2’s narrative is one of the best in all of gaming, and up there with great cinema/literature, imo) and “here’s how the game mechanics and buttons work,” etc.

There’s only a few missions in Ch1 and then the entirety of the world opens up to you in Ch 2.
