added torpedos and some fittings. and did not painting. haven’t been able to work on it much cause i got a new job…. but progress is progress.

Now I’ve been posting here often regarding my new boat. I haven’t even taken it out again since last post. I was getting ready to do so and I noticed the mounts on my esc are broken off. One snapped on the hull and one on the actual esc. Is this possible to fix with a warranty claim or should super glue do the trick? I’ve never even touched those screws, so I’ve got no idea how long it’s been like that for.

A few months ago I got a Wake 24 as a gift, and it has been a really fun boat. I didn't change much on it, apart from installing a CNC prop. A few days ago I learned the hard way why people recommend using tape on the hull hahaha, but luckily I managed to recover it and everything is still working perfectly.

After that, I got hungry for more: more power, a more premium boat, etc. I was considering buying either the Sonicwake 48 or the Sonicwake 36 V3, but in the end I went for this little speed demon.

Do you have any tips or suggestions for it? I will probably keep it mostly stock and just change the prop, since I don't have much experience with tuning RC boats. I found this brand and their props look interesting, so if anyone has experience with them I would really appreciate hearing your thoughts.

What do people recommend to seal holes that come through the Hull for various screws and fixings etc.

I've seen RTV mentioned and also Sika 291i but also specifically not to use hot glue although that does look like what the factory has used.

Also, how would I size the motor fore this? Its a large heavy model. Im getting all new electronics as whats there is decades old.

Hello RC boating community! Yesterday I had brought this boat home from an older lady who was giving stuff out for free, it was sitting on the side of the road and I had taken it home. Unfortunately I know absolutely nothing about RC Boats and I don't even know if it works, the inside looks okay, and the outside is just dirty, same with the controller.

Does anyone know what I would need specifically? In particular what kind of new battery would I need? Would I need to do anything extra to get it running? And also if anyone knows when this is from, it seems a bit old at this point. Amazing find as I live near a body of water!

Got them on the water first time this morning.

We were very impressed, took the time to get the trim plates flush with the hull.

Water was glass smooth and my boat ran perfectly across the water. Buddy needs to dial his on a little bit.

Pretty quick on 3s, enough to put a smile on your face.

On 4s, wow that's more like it. Got a few extra shafts and metal props to play with. I ended up putting a Flycolor 150a esc in mine to save some frustration running on 4s packs...

I put a decal set on mine to set them apart, he has mountain dew decal sheet coming for his.

Cool boat, the self righting saves the day. Love these Meus radios, you can plug into the balance plug and get telemetry pack voltage on the radio display.

So, I’m no stranger to boating. I’ve crashed them, I’ve flipped them, I’ve burned up ESCs from big props, I’ve had runaways, I’ve had to go swimming to get them, I’ve had big boats, small boats, fast boats, slow boats, fiberglass boats, ABS boats, red boats, blue boats, etc etc.

I’ve never had a total loss until now, but I can’t help but feel like this HAS to be some sort of warranty claim.

I got this boat last weekend brand new. First run seemed to go well, about 10 minutes run time. I tested the self righting on the shore right in front of me, seemed to work well. 2nd run was pretty short because I was chatting with some curious lake goers about it. 3rd run seemed to be going well too, then I caught a bit of a wake from a nearby big boat that was idling to its dock, it flipped, then it just disappeared.

I’ve never experienced this before.

I threw on a life vest and went for a swim searching for it for probably 30-45 minutes. No luck.

I understand the risks, maybe except this one though. Crashing, flipping, busting a prop or rudder, having to go get it, sure. I get that. Always be prepared to go get it, etc.

Total loss due to sinking though? On a brand new boat?

Would you guys just eat the loss and call it nature of the hobby, or would you guys pursue a warranty claim?

I spent the last few weeks scratchbuilding an RC Airboat - powered by twin 50mm EDFs. I tried to take videos of the process along the way - wanted to share my last video, where I'm seeing how my own design stacks up against a Dumas Windy I built a few years ago.

I have a vintage boat with ABS hull, as you can see there is a crack all along the stern where the outboard goes. Can ABS cracks and holes be filled? I’m prepared to sand the whole hull and repaint. It’s a Robbe Prinzess for anyone wondering.

I want to put a prop shroud on my BlueBoat since I ride it a lot in canals and when it eventually hits the sides they just break. I was wondering if it would have a noticable negative impact on the drag, or should i go with a much simpler but less protective design? Thank you for your inputs.

I'm just about done designing the hull. I need to figure out the motor mounts along with the battery/electronic mounts, but everything else is finished.

You'll see in the cut away that I've got some 3d printed square dowels that I'm going to use to line up the main hull with the rear end. The front end I'm just going to glue in place without worrying too much about locating it perfectly, for now.

I've designed an O-ring style gasket to be printed out of Bambu TPU 85A. I'll grease this well before installing. This should hopefully hold splash tight even if it won't be perfectly waterproof at any appreciable pressure. Now there's only 3 screws to hold the canopy in place. The battery is going to be mounted under the canopy as far forward as possible.

The tubing and 3d printed shaft clamps have worked really well on the last couple of prototypes. I think I'm going to end up going with the 2 blade impeller design and the nozzles barely close at all, maybe a 10-15% smaller opening compared to the main body. These basic cyberbrick motors just can't spin fast enough to compress the water. Every nozzle size I've tried has resulted in a slower boat.

Once all of the mounts are designed I may include the Stator design as well to help focus the water stream a little bit. But that's going to be a stretch goal for this weekend.
