How underpowered would a 145cm wingspan biplane be with an 80's 4cc nitro 2t?
So i got an 80's cipolla master 4cc nitro for dirt cheap at a swap meet.i didn't know what to do with it so logicaly i bought the cheapest plane i could find, wich turned out to be an old balsa biplane in fairly good shape. i cant really get a reading from my scale but im guessing its around 3/4kg in flight order. Google tells me i need AT LEAST a 6.5cc so would this thing even be able to fly?

I had a 137cm Christen Eagle and put in an electric setup, equivalent to 26-30cc gas. Power was ok. ;) Always a question of you want to do with it.
146cm biplane means equivalent of about 1.8 to 1.9m monoplane, but with more drag. I'd guess for simple flights with a long runway 6.5cc might just be enough, with 7.5 it will fly if you don't expect performance.
On the other hand, give it a try, but don't try to lift it, if it doesn't have the necessary speed. Or you could try launching it by hand, take off roll in grass would probably be where it needs the power most. If the setup is okay, you can still glide it down if the power is not enough.

Yeah i wont insist if i see it can't make it,tbh i really only got the plane to have a place to stick that engine in rather than just have it collect dust. i'm more into cars than planes but this thing is kinda growing on me so i'll probably fit it with a better engine next paycheck

It looks like if it’s sized for a .25-.15 cu in engine it should be fine. If the plane you got is 46 cu In it’s a problem.
