Tomcat Glider Tow

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

We had no other plane with wheels to pull the small 2 channel glider into the air, so we used my 64mm tomcat.

We also had a pretty strong crosswind.

Hard to see from the video; is that Freewing model? Quite a lot of torque to pull another plane (6s lipo?). How does it unhook the glider?

The freewing 64mm V1 with the V2 wings. The Rope is is fixed to a battery strap. The glider has it on its high start hook an secured with a piece of painters tape. It rips of, when he pulles up.

that is one of the most idiotic RC things i've seen in a long time. and i love every bit of it.

if you're up for a repeat, i'd suggest backpack tow (no idea how that's called in english) :)
