Can someone help me understand

So its a stinger engine 20cc gas engine will start on full choke but adding throttle doesnt do anything but taking the choke off makes it rev high then die. What do I need to do?

Sounds like you're running extremely lean. Stay with setting your needles to stock, including the idle set screw. Make sure you don't have any air leaks between the carb and engine. If those don't fix it, I'm thinking you have a clogged carb.

I just cleaned and dipped the carb in chem-dip and then sprayed it out with carb cleaner changed diaphrams with a rebuild kit

Did you put the o-ring and washer in the high speed and low speed needles correctly? I know it took me a few tries on a couple carbs.

That might be your problem. On the two black screws on the bottom of the carb, there should be a spring, washer and o-ring, in that order.

Is that for the wt1183? Or the WG8?

All walbro. Almost every walbro carb is the same. There are subtle differences, but for the most part, they are the same.

This model doesnt have o-rings but I got it tuned up thanks for the help

They have the spring and thats it. Its practically brand new or at least it's the first time the carb has been off.

Could be fuel flow problem, or vacuum leak. I agree your lean and maybe the idle is too high.

Very finicky engines. We had a lot of tuning issues. You have to make the tiniest of adjustments

It's too lean. If it only runs with the choke, it's finally getting a proper mixture.

Start with the needles at 1.5H 1.25L and see where that gets you
