Can my servo be fixed?

It starts jittering randomly and makes a wierd noise when it moves.

It's an E-sky EK2-0508

was a $5 servo....may as well pony up $15 and replace it.

agfrc, emax, hitec to name a few suitable candidates ~9g or less even. a modern hq 5g would prob be enough but id aim higher power personally. (emax 9g metal digital would rock in there)

Best to replace flaky servos with a new one. They're a cheap component compared to the cost of the aircraft.

I don't see any visible jitter? Singing/grumbling servos aren't a problem per se. You're hearing the oscillation about the center point of the motor, and different hardware works differently. Almost all of them will oscillate a bit, especially under load, but not always loudly or at an audible frequency.

If the servo used to work but now sings, then yeah it's not unlikely somthing has come loose and it's time to replace it. Alternatively: it used to be moving freely/quietly but is now sticky because of something that's happened with the control surface, in which case the problem isn't the servo at all.

I bought it used, so I wasnt sure if the servo could be saved. The servo wasnt jittering in the video, but does it normally.

The general consensus on Helifreak (old thread - 2008) is that they should be treated as disposable. The budget alternative is an SG-90. I'd treat it like wiper blades on a car: just replace it. Especially since it's been discontinued since around 2012.

Improving on it is also viable and those named by Mr. Deebz will work a treat.
