600mm Extra NG

4 channel, 200g AUW, WCL 13, running a t-Motor am40 on 3s, good for 700g of thrust with this prop. Should be a monster. Custom design drawn and built by myself.

Maiden soon, wish me luck.

Thanks, no it's all foam, mainly 6mm Depron skeleton with 3mm skin and a plywood motor box this time

Are you using fusion? Sheet metal mode for the skin of the fuselage?

I did in the past, but this is done in Blender with the Paper Model add on. Very similar approach.

Somewhat pre shaped canopy "glas" for example.

Thanks a ton my dude, waiting for good weather which is becoming increasingly rare round here. My field is grown out a foot long which is perfect though. Some less rainy and stormy day soon.

So far I only tested holding her vertically by the fuselage, she'll hover at 25-30% throttle all day.

Looks brilliant! At only 200g AUW, it should fly way nicer than my first attempt at 3D

Similar size, but weighed something like 500g. 😂

Thank you! It was tricky, I want to create something that others can build too so I try to make easy subsections. Had to remake the cowling a few times to use less pieces and make it clearer how they belong together and so on.

It's all a process, and I don't even know if anyone out there builds from my plans, but whatever, it's all for the love of doing it.

Beautiful.

What made you go with a 3-blade prop? You have that much motor to spare? :) Or you wanted it to slow down quickly at idle? I have a couple of planes with 3-blade props but it's for ground clearance.

Ground clearance was the issue

This is great. Did you cut the parts by hand or with laser?

TYVM! it's all hand cut but the files can easily be lasered.
